If recall correctly, Jenkins last year didn't start blowing up until summer too. I think that is when he received the Texas offer and didn't he end up #1 cover CB on Rivals just like Mathieu? Man Cooper just finds all that talent. Great evaluator and great developer. Hope he never leaves LSU. Didn't he recruit Gilmore to SC too?

I think so.

And he found Captain Munnerlyn if I'm not mistaken who was way under the radar in Alabama.

I think he was the infamous #1 ranked cover corner yet a 3-star.

Not to mention he has failed at being a DC and HC. I think he is here as long as we want him

Another DB? Is Chavis switching to the 1-1-9?

Right?? But this does include incoming members of the Future Linebackers of America club ala Coleman, Francois, Hatcher...

Same with jenkins, but he was also the second fastest and best hands yet was like the 21st ranked CB

That is the thing that works in our favor. I remember reading Texas was trying to get him this past offseason...and I've read rumors he and Chavis don't see eye to eye. I don't know if those are true though.

You have to think that someone is going to give him a second chance eventually. It happens all the time. You can't ignore someone's body of work like that. He should be highest paid assistant that isn't a OC/DC, IMO.

Where does it say that he's been offered by OU, OSU, and TCU?

Well if LSU fans are going to play the "non-committable offer" game, then we need to respect that possibility elsewhere as well.

And I also think Cooper is, after Wilson, our most valuable asset in terms of coach/recruiter/talent evaluator.

247 has his offers at Colorado State, Houston, Iowa State, Memphis, North Texas, Virginia, Utep, Tulsa.

LSU is his only major offer. He is rated a 88 on 247 too, which is 2 short of being a 4 star. Almost the highest possible 3 star.

It would be nice if he lights in up at a few other camps.

Wilson is absolute Gold in terms of recruiting the state of Louisiana, but he's not in the same league as Cooper in terms of talent evaluation and player development. Cooper's track record speaks for itself. Thank God they're both on the LSU staff!

Great school to make inroads with coaches and p0layers.

They are loaded every year.

Before last year, they had produced the second highest number of NFL players from the Dallas area since 1990: Dallas Morning News

quote:

2. DeSoto 7 Player Pos. Year Round NFL team College attended

Jessie Cox LB 1995 7 Indianapolis Texas Southern
Byron Hanspard RB 1997 2 Atlanta Texas Tech
Marcus Tubbs DT 2004 1 Seattle Texas
Tatum Bell RB 2004 2 Denver Oklahoma St.
Patrick Crayton WR 2004 7 Dallas NW Oklahoma St.
Ellis Hobbs DB 2005 3 New England Iowa St.
Mike Thomas WR 2009 4 Jacksonville Arizona

Last year's 2nd pick, Von Miller also is from there.

A & M's super highly touted tailback, Cyrus Gray is also a Desoto High alum as are two other Aggies.

Current LSU OT Evan Washington is also from Desoto.

I don't know if Memphis has posted it elsehwere but here is some film on Mills. After watching it I am ok with this pickup..He can cover and he don't mind playing the run.

I like the fact that he's somewhat thick. He could easily carry 200+ lbs before he plays a down. Safety not out of the question. Ilike it.
