Looking for a boat launch? Anyone know where there is a general launch?

Used to be one in Covington, down Jahncke Ave, but that was like 20 years ago when I last lived there....

i know there is one in tchefuncte estates in covington, but you may have trouble getting past the guard gate. You can launch on hwy 22 right next to the madisonville bridge or at the mouth in madisonville where it meets the lake

off Jahnke, between 3rd and 4th Ave. 3 backdown ramps.

One off of Jahncke in Covington, I think at the end of 4th street. Other at the mouth of the Tchefunte down Lake road in Madisonville. Marina Del Ray by the Tchefunte bridge in Madisonville is the nicest and $10 to launch.

You can launch in Mandeville (where Jackson Street meets the lake), and its a short run to where Tchefuncte meets the Lake. Shorter drive than driving to Covington. You could also drive to Madisonville and launch right at the base of the river, but then again you'll spend more time driving there then if you launched in Mandeville and ran your boat there.

Great info to know. Is the water high and muddy with all of the rain recently. Planning to go this weekend.

Thanks!

There's one at Marina Del Ray. I think it's $5 to launch.

We were on the river last saturday. It was a little high, but not really muddy. It is a great river to hang out on.

Do a google search for Water Street, Covington LA. If that doesn't work let me know and I'll guide you in, but it seems that's still an active boat launch. (was my bass fishing hole in high school, circa 1988 or so.....

Jump in with raw meat tied to you. You'll catch something.

Always good times to be had at the beaches there. Sharks or not.

I'm still skeptical of that picture. Hopefully that was the only one in the river.

There was a fundraiser recently to rebuild the beach that was washed away at the mouth of the river.
