And thats what I am afraid will keep us from winning the NC this year. I hope I am wrong but I cant see us not tripping up somewhere with this brutal schedule.

The went strictly by opponents W/L, pretty stupid way to rank a schedule IMO.

I believe the most devoted Miles acolytes are already laying a foundation to use the schedule as an excuse for failing to win either the SEC or the NC in 2011.

lolwat? It is flawed? Yes? But it is the best way to rank a schedule preseason.

Really? So we can't analyze the schedule now because we're laying a foundation to make an excuse for Les? You know, the coach with the best winning percentage in LSU history.

The Oregon (neutral) and West Virginia (road) should tip the scale.

Fwiw, we will have the #1 SOS in some of the computers because we play last years #1, #3, and a top 10 bama, top 20 MSU and Arky.

No it's not, you're taking last years W/L which may not have much affect on this years W/L. Also this list doesn't factor in previous years SOS.

yes, much better to rate it based on ranter rankings instead?

scroll down the page, he has his own schedule rankings. Nevertheless, LSU is still 5th. If you look at the 4 teams above LSU in his rankings, essentially he is reasoning that the Big 12(-2) and the Pac-12 are going to be very good this year and each of the 4 teams above LSU (Iowa St., Baylor, Colorado, Ore. St.) play at least one premire OOC game. He also takes home and away into account.

With that said, I can't see a tougher schedule than LSU's. The only weak spot (outside of a I-AA team) is that LSU avoid's 2 of the top 3 teams from the SECE (USC & UGA)

it would be somewhat difficult to us this years W/L total, so what should they use?

How would last year's SOS a) be any more relevant than last year's W/L total and b) How do you factor it in?

You may certainly analyze the schedule to your heart's content. However, I don't believe that the schedule should be offered as an excuse for failing to win the SEC. After all, the OOC games have no bearing on the SEC title. Moreover, if we are truly a national championship caliber team, we should be able to beat talented opponents on the road. Finally, I grow weary of excuses for failing to appear in Atlanta. In 2008, it was the defensive coordinators. In 2009 and 2010, we sacrificed Crowton at the altar of justification. Even Ryan Periloux has been repeatedly identified as a scapegoat. Miles has garnered one SEC title in six years. It's time to win another. Just my opinion.

The 2nd schedule is a joke. The other 3 are legit.
