That beats the previous best opening weekend of $158.4 million, also held by Warner Bros. for 2008's Batman blockbuster "The Dark Knight"

never seen any of them

Dark Knight Rises could rival this. Harry Potter progressively built that large fan base. The Dark Knight didnt have that luxury for opening weekend. I'm confident TDKR will beat this since they have a built fan base to work with for opening weekend

The Hobbit will take down Harry Potter

I highly doubt "The Dark Knight Rises" will one up "The Dark Knight". Its not going to be in 3-D and it hopefully won't be a dead actors last performance. Thats the reason the girls came is to see Heath's dying performance, not for the plot. Harry Potter is one of those few franchises that equally appeals to all sexes and almost all ages. TDKR won't.

Dark Knight Rises won't make near the amount that TDK hauled in.
Without the posthumous Joker buzz, TDK wouldn't have made what it did. The Joker WAS the movie.

I fully expect both the hobbit and TDKR rises to take it down.

I really doubt TDKR will take down HP7p2, but I do believe The Hobbit stands a fair chance to.

Wow.
Anyone have any idea how much the main kid in these movies has made off of this series?

He supposedly makes $24 million a movie now. One of the British newspapers estimated his net worth at close to $80 million US.

yeah you're right. a fricking batman movie hasn't had a chance to progressively build a fan base.

Yeah. It's not like Batman had a series of books to build a fan base on for the last fifteen years.
Oh, wait.
TDKR will not pull in the amount of money that the most profitable film franchise of all time will. And the LOTR movies did not even beat Phantom Menace. Highly doubt the childrens book one will do beat anything.
