Oberon's season may be finished by then, but I'll gladly take Two Hearted Ale

If I bought Oberon's now, would it keep until late August?

I mean I know it would keep, but would it be fresh enough for your liking?

If I recall you are in New Orleans. I don't go there, so we would have to meet on the side of the road on I-10 or I-12.

Does anyone know of any new breweries coming this way anytime soon?

I believe Rio Grande Brewery... they were at the Slinky's tasting last night. If they've been here a while I haven't noticed.

Twisted Pine also, and Squatter's from Utah and Boulder Beer like you mentioned were all somewhat recent additions.

And Fort Collins not too long ago.

Of all those, I think Squatter's does the best stuff, but that's going on what I remember from the Squatter's Pub in the Salt Lake airport.

Yeah I've seen all of those at Calandro's.
I was hoping for some bigger name breweries in the pipeline. : ( Kind of like that stone/Brooklyn expansion we had 2 or 3 years ago.

The website is showing a six month shelf life, and I just looked that up while wondering if my four year old beer is still good. The beer is unpasteurized, so even though they claim that it can sit in room temp, I'm assuming that the room temp in Kalamazoo is far different than that of Louisiana. I try to purchase mine chilled and keep it that way. Bell's has some beautiful color and is unfiltered too, so make sure you pour it into a pint glass so you can take in the nose, color and entire experience.

I don't get out there as much as I'd like. Blame BR traffic.

I'd love to see some Goose Island or Bell's or Sweetwater or Great Divide or Avery or Lagunitas or Terrapin or New Belgium or... I could go on for a while.

Goose Island or Bell's
I'd be very content with only these two breweries for the rest of my life.

I may look for some this evening or this weekend. I will check back with you later when I'm coming down there and maybe we can make a trade or something.

(I've said this before too, but if you know anyone selling any NEZ tix for any games, I am always looking).

Yeah. I'd quit complaining for a few days if any of those you listed were to grace us with their presence.

I love these guys. Here's the lightning fast response I received on my four year old special bottle:

"Thank you for taking the time to contact us. We won’t be adding new sales territories until our current construction projects are completed in 2012, and I’m afraid that no decisions have been made regarding when & where we go next. For the time being, your closest market would be Alabama.

As for the Batch 8000 Ale, I’m afraid that this is the only member of the Batch Series that wasn’t intended for long-term aging. I’m not sure how it will taste at this point, but it won’t compare favorably to what we released. I’d be curious as to what you find when you crack it open.

Sincerely,

Gary S. Nicholas

Seems like a lot of breweries are expanding at the moment.

Looks like ommegang is the only other one we're getting this year, and I think I've already seen Three Philosophers at The Cove.

Sweetwater just started expansion on their brewery so they can distribute more and further away. But it will be a while.

I like Terrapin. Still got a couple Rye Ale's in my fridge from my trip to Florida a few weeks ago.

Bought some Two Hearted Ale at the publix just below the water tower at the intersection of hwy 161 and 182. $10.99 a sixer if I remember correctly. Get that and the Magic Hat Summer sampler.
