Jason Campbell did suck until he was a senior.

First I would love for JJ to have a Campbell like senior season, but that is a very unreasonable expectation to put on JJ. Campbell set the SEC record for higest QB rating in a single season. His completion percentage was insane - it was about 70%.
I just want to see a confident JJ that is a leader who takes care of the ball. Hopefully improved performance from the past 2 years.

If we can get another 09 season out of JJ, with half the sacks, this team will be VERY tough to beat.

I think JJ finally understands what's at stake and what he has to do to be better and lead his team. The fact that he has a really good supporting cast and won't exactly be as outshined by the defense as he was last year will also be a big help. He's proven that he can come through when he's in the spotlight (see: Bama game, Cotton Bowl, Chick-fil-a bowl,) and right now the spotlight is definitely on him.

It is a good article.
But really, The Advocate is just hoping they have an excuse to use this pic for a headline:

Archie talking about how senior seasons can always be special for qbs. So why not JJ?

Other than that Jordan Jefferson and Jason Campbell have similar statistics going into their Senior seasons and both were criticized by their fanbase, I do not believe Jefferson and Campbell make a good comparison at all.
Undboutedly, Campbell had a great season in 2004, but, in my opinion, he was surrounded by even a greater team. Ronnie Brown and Cadillac Willams both came back for their SR years. I remember Campbell having all day to throw the ball and the ability to rely on a virtually unstoppable running game. Essentially, Campbell became a good decision-maker and allowed his running backs to carry the load. Brown and Williams could also catch passes out of the backfield.
I believe that Auburn team had 3 guys drafted in the first 10 picks of the draft along with Campbell in the first round, who was named SEC the player of the year. I think their run defense was one of the best in the country if not the best. They mauled every team they played except for LSU. That team even had some lesser known guys go on to have pretty good NFL careers.
Also, it is interesting to note. . . Campbell had a lot more time to develop physically and mentally. Jefferson is currently age 20 going into his SR season. Campbell was age 20 finishing up his redshirt freshmen season. Jefferson will be 21 playing in his final game, whereas Campbell was 24. I believe Jefferson could have benefitted greatly from a redshirt year. But, as we all know, he had to step in and play as a true freshmen.
