Anime Movies

Transformers - Highly Successful trilogy with millions still to be raked in from the 3rd Movie
Speed Racer - A bust at the box office for targeting the wrong audience however not actually a bad movie at all if you watched it.
This leads me to believe that with modern day technology where are the other Anime movies, all the remakes, reboots, etc. why not invest in animes that had even bigger followings than that of Speed Racer, and Transformers?
Sailor Moon, Ronin Warriors, or even a "legitimate" DBZ(dont mention evolution)movie. DBZ had the biggest following of any Anime and if done right the movie would gross more IMO than any of the Transformers Movies currently out there...just a vague idea just wanted to know if i was the only one who felt that anime movies should be looked into more in depth.

I think a big problem is that a lot of fans don't want to see their favorite characters and storylines bastardized by Hollywood.

if done right

Bastardized...worse than dragonball evolution? if anything fox owes the world a reboot for torturing everyone who wasted money to see one of the crappiest possible adaptations of a beloved anime franchise. no one ever wanted a "dragonball" movie, or an american douche who has no fighting ability whatsoever to play the most badass person in the universe.

Oh, you mean Vegeta?
I say they do a CGI DBZ movie.

This movie is the definition of bastardization. That's what I was getting at.

There are plenty of great Anime movies. I just saw "The girl who leapt through time". It was a great movie.

Bring back the American voice actors and keep the characters looking the same, just with a little more realism to them.

That's the only way it could be done. Child actors are too crappy to build a movie around, see: The Last airbender (among others).

*off to write a screenplay*
How about this for a trailer:
We see the inside of a deserted hallway that is slightly sloping upwards in the distance. Then a track running along the outsides of the floor lights up with three colors signifying a platoon. Kids come pouring out of their bunkroom and into the hall while tey finish putting their team unis on. There we see Ender, a Launchie, getting pushed around and eventually falling in in the back of the line. At the Battleroom His 'toon leader tells him to stay out until 5 minutes into the battle. (music picks up) He looks at his watch, leaves the gate at the appropriate time, and loses his footing due to lack of gravity. He quickly grabs a railing beneath the door. Next we close in tight on him and we see him slowly adjust himself and turn around to face the camera We see his eyes go wide. We then see a panoramic shot of a battle that is taking place in the wide open space. (croscendo)
ENDER'S GAME pounds onto the screen.

Voltron was anime, but it was actually two unrelated anime series that they cut and combined together for American television.
Dairugger was the one with the cars and Beast King Golion was the Lion voltron. An american studio basically took the animation and then cut it together and wrote dialog independent of the original dialogue.

Solid idea but for a trailer, I would stop it right there.

It'd be like a 2 second shot of the battling that he is seeing.
Ok. Stop it there and you have a teaser.
