New to the whole tailgating scene just had a couple questions. What size generator should I buy to power a tv and a dish? Also what besides a directv subscription do I need to properly hook up a tv at a tailgate? An lastly besides a grill tables chairs beer and music and canopies. What are some tailgating essentials? Only have a year of lsu tailgating under my belt. Any suggestions help

ETA: And these are the best generators you can buy for tailgating because they are the most quiet on the market, and they don't stink. LINK

I'm a poor college kid, so I used to just bring the one my dad owned, which was a 8k watter. Just put it so your car blocks most of the noise and you're good.

A football. Some kids and a hot wife to show off. (sorry, forgot I wasn't on the OT)

Do you have a parking pass?

And her hot friends for me please!

Don't forget, her hot sisters count too.

You could do a tv and dish with a 1k generator, but I would go for a 2k just in case. The Honda Eu series are the best.

You will need an extra dish and something to mount it on like a tripod. You also have to know how to aim it.

This is key. Some dishes are easy. some are huge pains in the rear.

You'll need all that stuff anyway, so might as well get the kit.

if your a student, set up next to someone with a tv, put a tent up, bring a grill, beer, and girls and have fun. Usually the tent with the tv has good music. Make sure you share the girls and food with the tent with the tv, theyll invite you back for every game. Just my 2 cents.

yea its me and a bunch of other kids so we just figured we're better off setting up our own shite instead of trying to bring a large group of kids and joining another tailgate

Make sure you get the right dish if you want to get all the channels. I think it depends on what type of box you have. I have the newest HD box and got the Slimline dish with 3 LNBs

I use a yard/ground tamp for my dish. Alot cheaper than a tripod and easier to keep level since the base is smaller.

I'm not subscribed to directv yet if that makes a difference.
