They cracked the top 20. I think the top 5 are pretty legit.

Before I look, Portland had better be #1!

And NOLA is pretty legit since Avenue Pub has come around.

Portland is ranked number 1, Denver 2, Seattle 3. pretty solid top 3 imo.

Yeah, can't argue with those choices.

Avenue is nice, but is the competition that slim that ONE bar can bring it up the Top 20?

While that site is loading, I notice it is from "Travel and Leisure" magazine. Making a little more sense now.

N.O. ranked higher than Philly?

Surprised Chicago is ranked so low.

I'm pretty sure Cooter Brown's was also in Draft Magazine's top 100 beer bars in the country.

But no, one bar isn't going to do it alone.

I'm sure the influx of craft breweiries within 100 miles helped the rankings

Southern Louisiana has made a pretty good showing recently for MicroBrews:

NOLA Brewing
Heiner Brau
Covington Brewhouse
Abita Brewery
Tin Roof (Baton Rouge)
And I guess you can still count good ol' Dixie

Seattle is a ridiculous beer city. Every neighborhood has their own brewery, some more than one. I've never been to Denver, but I can't imagine them having more. I know that there are some smaller towns like Fort Collins in Colorado that have a ton though.

We have an office in Lower Queen Anne. Was up there back in May. Love the neighborhood pubs around there

That's right by my office. We're kind of in between Belltown and Queen Anne, near the Seattle PI building with the globe on it.

It took New Orleans a while and should have.

Dixie Beer is awful... Never had Jax. It was probably 3 trips to the Quarter ago that I saw they had a couple of "Taprooms" on or near Bourbon. And the Boondog Saint.

Abita Beer is good stuff though.

I guess they factor in Cooter Browns and the two Bulldog's too.
Maybe they are kind of beer ignorant and like the two or three "beer bars" or whatever they call themselves on Bourbon.

Yeah, I forgot about how much the NOLA brewery has done to help the caft beer movement too.

This area has gotten alot better in the last five years. Most decent bars now offer at least a few micro beers on tap and the stores carry alot more good stuff.

Might as well add Parish Brewing while you're at it.

Not currently available in New Orleans, so no. Not available in BR even.

At least not until he gets his new brewery running.
