Good Eats in Hammond/Slidell

there's a Cuban place near Fremaux and Front street in Slidell that makes a mean medianoche

Hi Ho in Hammond near the Wal Mart. It's a BBQ sandwich place with like 4 items on the menu.

Why not meet in middle and go somewhere in Covington or Mandeville? Better selections than Hammond or Slidell IMO .

Slidell doesn't have a whole lot of lunch options...but Peck's is good if you're looking for something quick, i.e. shrimp po-boy. Times Grill has good burgers for the price you pay (most are around $8). There's also Thai Orchid and Camellia Cafe.
