in CFB?
Signed a UFL deal.
Saban wanted him as a WR. WVU gave him the opportunity to play QB so he signed with them out of HS over LSU.

He would have had a better opportunity to still be in the NFL if he had chosen to play a different position, I do not think it is a guarantee.

If guys like Brad Smith can make it in the NFL as a WR, then Pat White certainly should have been able to. Had Pat played WR in college I think its a pretty good bet he would be doing the same in the NFL

Brad Smith is a horrible WR.
Brad Smith is a great KR/Gunner/Wildcat QB.

Kind of reminds me of the saga of an athletic current LSU player trying to fit in to a position.

If only he had hands the dude would be legit.

Pat was just a hair too small to take the beatings of a mobile NFL qb.
Still, he is my favorite CFB player of all time to watch. Of course I'm more than a little biased.

Or what if he went to a different NFL team...
This sort of thing happens every year in every sport.

Maybe so. Look what Nick Saban did to Corey Webster.
