Love the Wisnewski trade. He's exactly what we need. I know we'll overpay for him, but still, I'm excited.

After adding Jeff Carter, if they can land one of the top free agents this year, that's a great sign for them and should get the fans pretty excited in Columbus.

Stuff i saw on HF boards that is sorta noteworthy.

-Rumor is that Jagr is on a flight to the 'Burgh.
-Ehrhoff to me didn't have a great finals, but you could say the same for most of the Canucks.
-Van re-signed Lapierre. 2 years, $2MM.
- Paul Kariya retires..sad day
- Chris Drury's contract bought out by NY

There is quite the growing list of premier players who have been forced from the game because of concussions. Some of the blame must go to equipment changes obviously, but a lot has to do with the NHL rules and rule enforcement being incompetent, the league wants a star driven game and doesn't protect the stars...I can't wait till Ovie and Sid are both out because of concussions are the Pens and Caps are again shitty out of town draws... frick Gary Buttman, frick Colly Campbell, and frick this mickey mouse league for denying us skilled players in their prime because they can't get their shite together to enforce their own rules.
Players I miss;
Eric Lindros,
Pat Lafontaine,
Paul Kariya,
Sid Crosby,
Marc Savard,

40 million, 10 years. Great deal for Buffalo. Only a $4 million cap hit for Ehroff is pretty ridiculous.

amazing to me that ballard couldn't even crack the Vancouver Canucks lineup last year and has the same cap hit as Ehrhoff will for the Sabres.

Mike Commodore signs with Red Wings
Blues re-sign Matt D'Agostini to two-year extension.

Ryder to Dallas for 2 years and 7 million. Not a bad spot for him, as he won't be under the microscope. He's a solid goal scorer (and decent backup goalie to?!), but highly inconsistent in terms of both results and effort.

Ward to Caps. 4 years, 12 mill.

Goc to Florida. 3 years, 5.1 mill.

ETA: Sully to Pittsburgh. 1 year, 1.5 mill.

Wow Ryder gone? I thought for sure he'd be back in Boston.

Jose Theodore to Florida, 2 years, 1.5 mil per.

The Phoenix Coyotes have signed left winger Raffi Torres and goalie Mike Smith to multi-year contracts.

Forward Tyler Kennedy signed a two-year deal worth $4 million to stay with Pittsburgh, the only NHL team he's played with since being drafted in 2004.

Gah. I can't keep up with all these deals.

No, the Bruins didn't even open negotiations with Ryder. Truth be told, 3.5 mil per year is an overpay. Ryder came up big in the playoffs obviously, but he was a pain in the arse in the regular season due to his inconsistent effort.

Ugh, was in the same grad with him at the same high school; his dad was my rugby coach (and math teacher)... talk about feeling old.

Gotcha.

LA Kings are going after Brad Richards!?

Mike Richards/Brad Richards/Anze Kopitar.. Yikes.

Stevie Yzerman in Toronto to meet with Brad Richards.

So far, hearing that LA Kings, Toronto, Lightning, and Sabres are waiting to meet with Brad Richards. I assume NY Rangers are as well.
