Good move for NY. Richards will flourish on that first line.
What blows my mind is what Florida Panthers did today(team I root for).Trying to remain optimistic about our future. I realize they had to spend a ton of $$ to get to the floor, but how do you justify handing out bad contracts all day? Jovanovski is 35 and is not close to the player he once was, got 4 yrs $16.5M. Fleischmann gets $18M over 4 years. And the worst deal of the day was Upshall for $16M over 4 years with a no trade clause. Add in grossly overpaid Brian Campbell, and you get the most money handed out in one offseason without really getting any better. /end rant

Richards' contract is going to suck for new york the last few years. you'll still be paying him 6.5 mil 9 years from now.
