Of course he'll be a Leaf. Just like every major FA/possible guy being traded will be a Leaf... until they go elsewhere.

Hey it's not just Carter. "Nash is a Leaf! Ontario kid, big Leaf fan growing up, and why would he stay in Columbus when he can play for God's gift to hockey for more money?!" Maybe some guys don't want to play for an organization that has had little success this decade with media who know your meal and price of dinner 365 days of the year.

I'm not talking about you specifically, I'm talking about Leafs fans in general who claimed Nash was going to Toronto when he was a FA, yet stayed in Columbus. You have to admit, Toronto fans always think they're getting everyone, and yet they rarely, rarely do. It's like the Knicks in bball.

As a long time Flyer fan, I'm torn on the current moves.
Carter has disappeared in the post season, but he was injured a couple of times. However, I still see Carter blowing that easy goal in OT of game 6 of the SCF two years ago. That play alone sums up Cater in the post season for me.
I hope the Flyers plan on trading the #8 pick to move up. In this draft, I see a weak class after the 24-25th pick.
Richards, well, I wasn't too high on him last year. I don't know. He was a good Captain, but he too would get pushed off the puck too easily in the post season.
All in all, I like what they got in return. My guess is that they will go after another big name player. At least, I hope so.
Just three years ago the Fly boys had 6 20+ goal scorers. Since then, they've let Lupul, Gagne, Richards and now Carter go. The D has improved a bit, and hopefully JVR, Giroux and the other youngsters can keep their momentum.
Oh well, what is done is done.

Experts are calling this a very deep draft year maybe half way through the 2nd round deep
