If they ask you if you'd like garlic with your village bread, be aware that they charge $3 for a 25 cent bulb of garlic. Tell them to go light on the butter on the ribeye if you get that, if not it will be way too salty. If you'd like a baked potato with that ribeye be aware that the "slight upcharge" for that is $7, even though it lists that it comes with "your choice of potato".
Lastly, don't allow some douchebag waiter to insult your choice of wine (I had ordered Eberle) before suggesting his total shite choice that is more expensive.

Does Eberle have a boar on the label?

Sounds like a nice little place.

Ribeye is my favorite.. Prior to their new pricing it was the best deal in town now its pretty much priced with everyone else. I also tell them to cut the butter in half.
Dont think I have ever ordered a dessert there and for app we always just get their bread.

Don't order the specials they tell you about unless you're prepared to pay $48 for them.

Both BR LVs get plenty of lunch biz, and Airline some night, despite serving the same fare that can be found in many BR eateries, and often better elsewhere, yet Stabiler's only joint worth the price gouging(Le Creole), sits fledgling anew and unknown to the masses..
Folks need visit LC, let's keep Chef Ryan Andre in BR, despite some of their original Mike's on the Avenue/Clara Peller "Where's The Beef" portioning.

from the outside looking in (reading the usual comments about this place - and having never been to little village), I can't help but wonder how on earth this place stays open.

Decent quality meets very well-chosen location. Folks banking on memories of Mrs Fanny Distefano's original, which is a BR Alltime Top 5er Restraurant.
Downtown has the bankers, lawyers, and politico crowds. Airline has the Industriplex, Highland, Airline biz owner and management crowd, plus soccer-moms doing lunch crowds.

They serve one of the better steaks you can get. When the USDA Prime Ribeye was $28 dollars and came with sides (with no upcharge for potato) you couldnt find anywhere else around that served that quality steak for that price.. Now that the price has moved up and apparently charging 7 more for a potato I wouldnt mind if they get burnt a little for that decision.

The food is all very good and it is an upscale-feeling restaurant without upscale prices all around (although many items are overpriced). But the problem with this place is you have to know precisely what to order.
You can spend $150 just as easily as you can spend $50.
I only go for their Italian. We don't go out for steaks much.. I'm not a huge fan. Their Italian dishes are ~$15 so it's a good deal, but if you've never been and you order the specials not knowing the prices (and one of their overpriced glasses of house wine for $12), you can easily spend way too much.

Their Italian dishes are pretty good from what my girlfriend says. The only times I've gotten Italian were once for veal parm, which was pretty solid (quite a while back), and recently for spaghetti and meatballs. The pasta was really overcooked and oversauced (spaghetti). The sauce was decent, though.
Overall, when we're in the mood for Italian, my girlfriend and I pick Gino's. The entree prices are about the same and we like them better at Gino's.

Agreed. They're on BargainBee today.
