The kids now have been "nannied" so much. Many of the people I was in school with worked and paid for school all on their own. Their parents didn't help them and had told them when they were growing up that at 18 they were on their own.

I agree L.A.Tiger.
While at LSU from '80 to '84, I remember getting in the student line at Tiger Stadium at 3:00 for a 7:00 game. You just needed your ID then.

Also, the student section was JUST AS ROWDY and crazy then as it is now, if not crazier, WITHOUT the monumentally stupid curse word chants.
TGBFTL played EVERY song back then, without the worry of thousands of idiots RUINING it for the rest of the 80,000 (then) people, and TV audiences.

The 1982 Florida State "orange" game is an example. It was and still is the LOUDEST Pre-game I have EVER heard in almost 35 years of going to LSU games. An LSU student dressed up like Florida State Seminole, and (the costumed) Mike mockingly attacked him and broke his spear. The student section went absolutely nuts.

Those were the days.

Oh so true! I worked!! At the Aquiculture farms off Nicholson cutting grass, feeding catfish etc. Then worked at the La. Breeders Co-Op in the animal science dept.doing things that would make your mother faint, and finally my best gig. Worked in the Union selling tickets to concerts. Made some pretty good friends because of that job, especially with the ladies
