The drinking age was 18 back then and they didn't card anyone. Most of the dorms were unairconditioned back then. Are there any unairconditioned dorms left?

None I know of.

And I remember that convenience store. That was back when the North and South stadium dorms were still available for use. They weren't popular, but it was an option if you didn't like having a roommate, or didn't like the roommate you got.

I remember LSU gave you a free can of paint if you wanted to move into North stadium. They were very popular with foreign students, who weren't as used to having AC as Americans were.

As far as the convenience store, it was run by a guy who was legally blind, and he was a crusty dude, but cool once you got to know him.

There were foosball tournaments held there, and it was at that store where I learned to play Hi-lo, or in-betweens.

You'd draw two cards face up, then you would bet the pot, or a portion of same that your next card would be between the two previous cards.

There were cards games held there most every night for the regulars, and the house took a share of the pot.

Good times.
