how does LSU baseball look next year?

now that there is truely nothing else to hope for this season.
How do we look next year?
who do you say will start and where? How well will we finish in the SEC? Will we make the NCAA tournament? Will we host a regional? will we host a super regional? Will we make it to Omaha? will we win it all?
to my own qustions, ill get back to who starts and where. I say we make the SEC tourney but probably the 6 or 7 seed. Yes we make the NCAA tourney. We might host a regional, we probably won't hose a super regional. We may not make to Omaha, only way we make it is if we are hot at the right time. There is little chance we will it all.
what are your thoughts?

We'll be a little better.
The starting pitching will be pretty good.
But who is going to step up in the bullpen, and how will the lineup go without Mahtook?
It could be dicey.

What makes you think Nola isn't coming back? He didn't play well enough to warrant a high draft pick. He will be back.

Weekend rotation will be the same next year.
Some of this very much speculation but why not.

1B - Lowery or Bruno
2B - Rhymes
SS - Nola
3B - Hanover
RF - Katz
CF - Jones
LF - Watkins

we're going to REALLY, REALLY rely on jones, rhymes, and katz at the plate. hanover needs to be more consistent, though we've been saying that. ross needs to take a big step forward. i guess we'll see about the new guys.
nothing to be super excited about, imo. idk, maybe we'll get lucky with the draft.

Starting pitching should be awesome. Offense will likely be worse than this year. I wouldn't be making any reservations in Omaha for next year just yet.

We improve big time. Mike is a huge loss but with the breakout of Katz and Jones, this team will hit the ball better. It is in my opinion that Nola will be back (he should be able to improve his stock even being a senior by hitting and fielding better which he is more than capable of). Ott is another story... Who knows what he is thinking as his ERA isn't too bad but he had some heartbreaking blown save and losses.
I think we need an overhaul of the roster and coaching staff. Many players like Didier, Snikeris, Fury, even Ross IMO are not what I believe to be SEC-caliber players. (Don't give me the Ross all-freshman SEC shite. He won by default.)
With all this said, we should be frickijg stacked in the infield and weekend rotation. Hanover, Nola, Jones, and my boy Lowery is as stacked around the horn offensively and defensively you can ask for. Additionally, an all sophomore rotation with Gausman, The Cuuun, and Eades will be at the worst above average.
The big problem I foresee are the two positions in the outfield (leaving out Katz in right) and behind the plate. Those are 3 positions of large need. That needs to be fixed with incoming freshman or JC transfers. I don't see anyone on this roster capable of playing those positions at an SEC level other than Jones moving to Center.
I think we will be able to compete for 4-5 spots overall in the SEC as Florida will stil be the class of the conference with their seemingly always young roster, and SC not going away. Our division will probably still remain weakish with Ark or Bama improving possibly.

I think he will be picked somewhere in the round 10-12 range. Baseball drafts on ability more than production. The errors early in the year didn't hurt his defensive stock as much as people think. It is a weak year for college position players, especially shortstops.
How much do you think he can improve by coming back? If he does return I think it will end up having more to do with his brother than anything else.

Where does Arby Fields fall into this discussion?
And if Cave makes it to campus, do you see him playing OF, or craking the rotation, being LSU's big lefty?

Fields and Cave will instantly see the field if they step foot on campus. I don't know about the starting rotation but anything can happen. We will need big time help in the middle and long relief area. They are both too talented to not see major playing time IFFF they fall into our laps.

Jones will probably move to outfield, but many many things will change from now till August. Three spots still to be determined...
The weekend rotation is going to be down right disgusting!
C-Ross
1B-Bruno
2B-Hanover
SS-Eierman*
3B-?
LF-Katz/Watkins
CF-Jones
RF-Cave*
DH-Rhymes
Fri-Guasman
Sat-Eades
Sun-McCune

I don't think Eierman will make it here, but if he does I think he'll be a 3rd baseman or outfielder. Draft reports aren't high on his defensive ability on the infield.

maybe we can actually get lucky with the draft this year. fricking ucla gets cole, tcu gets purke, florida gets whitson, etc.
let us get cave, eirmann, story, whatever.

Is their any chance that Eierman makes it here next year?
I could see Cave, Eierman, and Story all going in the top 5 rounds, with Aaron Nola and Baranik coming in the next couple after that.

We had some luck with pitching last year. We need it with hitters this year.

I think Eierman would work his way into either 2B or SS. Johnny's going to be drafted with the intentions of becoming an outfielder he were to start in CF that could end up pushing Jones back to the infield. Again...it's just going to matter how things fall into place next week.

Pitching:
Friday: Kevin Gausman
Saturday: Kurt McCune
Sunday: Ryan Eades
Weekday: Joey Bourgeois
Field:
C : Ross
1B: Barrios
2B: Jones
SS: Nola
3B: Hanover
LF: Katz
CF: Watkins
RF: Edward
DH: Rhymes
Outfield is a little sketch at the moment. Need to see how new players produce in the practice.

Starting pitching should be pretty good next year but we still have more questions next than this year. Who will be #3 SP? Any relief in the bullpen? Will infield get moved around to improve outfield? Who is going to step up as CF and our best hitter/player? Right now, LSU looks more grim than they did this year unless we get a lot of development in our team. Which I'm hoping for personally. Also need to wait until the draft to see who leaves...and who stays.
At least we're getting some pitchers back next year even though they're coming off major surgery...that should provide some depth. So, I'm not too worried about pitching at this point.
