took these at lunch when i went to eat out there. These pics may only make sense If you are familiar with the Fly, but this is towards the end, where you can usually look down at the river and they have a small beach with the little wooded area. Probabl 15-20 ft of beach area, with trees probably 20-30ft high.

Im sure it is documented somewhere how much the river has risen, but by my estimate in this area, it is at least 12-16ft higher than normal. I could be off.

Also, the river is fricking roaring. Has to be near 12mph, maybe 15. The tugboats look like they are moon walking.

I went up Sunday to check it out. It is high and going to get much worse. Lester, what did you think about the Carrollton Booster's baseball complex? Pretty cool setting and I think they did a really good job.

yeah it's really nice. Maybe the best complex for Little league in Jefferson or Orleans parish.

i was wondering how it was looking around there. 12-15 ft more or less seems like a pretty good estimate.

Corp rep on the radio said 10 mph. But it wouldn't surprise me if it were 12-15

The river is probably running closer to 5mph, and the small tows lrunning at less than 15 to 18. (outside of vts).

we had a baseball game at the fly last night...the new complex is very impressive.....during the game the ships felt like they were almost on top of us....it was very bizarre seeing them so high and close to us...

the river is running less than 10knots/11.5mph going downriver.....the small tugs going downriver might be making just over that......

They can do way better than 11 if they want to. Depending on the load and the traffic they will do less. Pushing empties in the canal they can hit 10.

Where are the fields located? I didn't see anything on their website. I would like to go watch some games and maybe put my boys in it next year. They play in KPRD right now and it lacks BIG time. TIA.

Behind the zoo overlooking the river. It is only the second season they have played there. It is a really nice complex.

Thanks... $150 is a little steep, but I'll go check out a few games. Does is seam like the athleticism is a little higher than usual?

It is completely privately funded. No affiliation with NORD. It is worth the money just to be able to buy beer at the park.
