I wonder how much pressure the spillway can handle and I wonder how much is on it now.

its designed to at least it's full height, as long as the adjacent levees arent undermined, but they are probably sheetpiled pretty deep

Anyone know the gauge height the Morganza was designed to open at when it was constructed. I can't imagine it would have been designed to remain closed with water this high.

from everything i've heard, it has more to do with volume of flow, than a certain gage, which is interesting, because the gage seems to be more important than the volume

the river cross section can change altering the way flow and gage are related

just my $.02
