Some people's lives are about to be turned upside down and you want to watch? You are a sick man. It's probably too late, but get help just the same.

I'd like to watch. It has only been opened once and it was before my life. It may never be opened again. Whether or not I am there to watch has no bearing whatsoever on what the affects of it are.

Take a chill pill bro.

Listen here you little buttfricker, you need to grow a set and not be such a bitch about reality. You think by not watching things go down, that things just magically get better? no. why not witness the history of something instead of turning your head. I am a geotechnical engineer and have been testing the levees from new roads to venice for the past 2 years. people need to understand what the frick is going on and someone could actually learn a thing or two about this. go back to waiting tables you fricking hack

I'd be happy to arrange seating directly in front of the floodgates for anyone who wants to watch. Let me see what I can do and I'll get back to you.

Rhode Island Red is still mad about the New Madrid floodway being opened.....

Red, if you're interested in $7 or $8 dollar a gallon gasoline, don't open the Morganza and let Baton Rouge and New Orleans flood along with all the oil refineries and petrochemical plants....

I am so impressed. Do you work for the USACE? If so then I bet you must be a GS-10. I am in awe.

My Dad took me to see it in 73. It was already opened when we got there. The levee was vibrating. It left me with lifelong respect for the enormous power of nature and the River.

I don't think it is rubbernecking or disrespectful to watch them open it. That is what it is made for. The people with land actually in the Spillway were paid for flood easements, and they all knew this would happen eventually. I don't wish them ill, but I don't think I am laughing at their funeral if I go to see this massive, once in a generation event.

You should get out of here with all that sense making. There is no room for that here!

Let me tell you something, little boy. Perhaps you don't know what it is to be flooded and suffer the consequences. I do.

Let me tell you something, mother fricker. I am no little boy. Fortunately I do not know what it is to be flooded, but to criticize people for wanting to watch something that may never happen again in their lifetime is ridiculous. Nothing I can do will change the course of events that is about to happen INCLUDING ignoring the opening of the Morganza Spillway. Keep your stupid fricking comments to yourself.
