What are some of your favorites -- for lunch, dinner, dessert?

Red Rooster in Harlem

Lamb and Sweet Potato Hash with Egg custard, Rosemary, and beets. Damn good.
Eleven Madison was one of the best meals I've had as well.
LINK
Went to Sushi Yasada and sampled a few unbelievable pieces of sushi before going to Broadway one night. Very pricey, but had some crazy and intresting things on the menu.
LINK
We also went to Trattoria Dopo Teatro and had a very good meal as we had a reservation mix up one night and the concierge suggested this place to us and it was very reasonable.
LINK
If you're looking for drinks in the TSQ area. Jimmy's Corner on 44th and 6th has hands down the cheapest drinks in Manhattan. $4 mix drinks $3 beer. Guy used to own the biggest boxing gym in NYC and has some cool pictures on the wall.
It was a half block from my hotel. I didn't miss a night going by here on the way home without grabbing a couple drinks. Got to meets lots of locals and aspiring actresses

Don't know why but here's a brief thing:
"Until recently, it was one of New York's most famous dining spots and a frequently visited site in the Park. But the building has now been transformed into the Tavern on the Green Visitor Center & Gift Shop, run by the Central Park Conservancy.
Park visitors can still find a bite to eat there, though. Four mobile food vendors are often set up on the outdoor terrace, including Ladle of Love, Pera Mediterranean Brasserie, Rickshaw Dumpling Truck and Van Leeuwen Artisan Ice Cream.

Lunch - Les Halles on Park Ave. Steak frites and salad for $19, a steal. Mondays 1/2 price bottles. Also Molly's Pub and Shabeen for their burgers and Guinness. Burgers ground in house and are $9 w/ fries. Luke's Lobster (east village location) for lobster rolls and Maine saspirilla soda. I'll take those lobster rolls over a poboy anyday.
Dinner - Gnocco in the east village for Italian and pizza. Everything in a small brick oven. Small and candle lit. Nothing over $20.
Dessert - ya got me there. I don't have any recomindations.

Moustache - Lebanese (In the Village)
Good Enough To Eat - Upper East Side (Breakfast)
Ferrara's - Little Italy (Dessert. Kind of touristy but great)
Gray's Papaya - Hotdogs and Fruit Drinks (multiple locations)
John's Pizza (In the Village)
All of Mario Batali's - Never heard a bad thing about them!
*Nothing in Times Square- all overpriced and not that great from what I've experienced*

What are you looking for?
Balthazar for brunch.
Best value for lunch is Jean Georges - I think they have $25 prix fixe. That is tough to beat if you want to sample 3 Micheline stars.
If you want to spend large coin, try Daniel, Per Se, Jean Georges or Eleven Madison Park. There are many others in the high end range. I've only eaten at Per Se. It is amazing.
You also can't go wrong with anything Batali (I've been to Babbo a couple of times. He does it right), Chang (I've beeen to Ko, which is great, but I think Momofuku Saam is easier to do and is where he made his name). Boulud, or Vongerichten. They all have places in all price ranges.
Blue Ribbon for late night.

I've never been to NYC, but I was supposed to be going in a few months and I had most of the trip planned out..
I was most excited about Eleven Madison Park.
It's pretty well-known for it's interesting dishes and looked great!

Just back from replying.
Keep me posted on your travel plans to NS. It's not NOLA, but we do have great lobster. They were selling it fresh and live off the back of pick-up trucks last weekend for $5.50/lb.
I seem to remember that you head to Napa regularly. Are you going this year? I love that place.
PS to OP - I won't hijack your thread. :)
