re: Places in BR to get authentic Vietnamese spring rolls?

They r not authentic but the ones at whole foods are good if u need a quick fix. They have the clear noodles and come with either shrimp, chicken or tofu and a peanut dipping sauce.
I have also had some at Rama.

I agree that Randy Montalbano on Florida is outstanding. The people, service, and crawfish are all top notch.

Moustache - Lebanese (In the Village)
Good Enough To Eat - Upper East Side (Breakfast)
Ferrara's - Little Italy (Dessert. Kind of touristy but great)
Gray's Papaya - Hotdogs and Fruit Drinks (multiple locations)
John's Pizza (In the Village)
All of Mario Batali's - Never heard a bad thing about them!
*Nothing in Times Square- all overpriced and not that great from what I've experienced*

Great idea re: shrimp tacos! I was going to suggest fish tacos with sides of black beans and Spanish rice.

Thoughts on pepperoni-
I may be the last to see these, but you can get really good tiny pepperoni at Albertsons. They are about the size of a penny and really great to add to pasta salads. I recently made one for a party and added artichoke hearts, black olives, asparagus, cherry tomatoes, garbanzo beans and homemade italian dressing.
Also- Whole Foods deli has amazing pepperoni that is more of a sandwich size- almost a bologna-size round.
I agree- I love pepperoni and find it very versatile & underrated.

re: Mississippi River Flooding - Links & Pictures in 1st Post

Is the flooding in St. Francesville caused by the opening of the Morganza? If so, I don't get it, Morgnaza is on the west bank and St. Francesville is on the east bank. Am I misunderstanding something?

Service - GREAT.
Bone in Ribeye- Excellent
Lamb chops - really good flavor but a little on the salty side. I tend to over-salt so that was fine with me but i think the average person would have found it too salty.
Sides were very good, and like everyone says- the chocolate lava desert was awesome!
I dont think I would regularly eat here because for a steak dinner, Ruth's Chris is still the best IMO. I would like to try some of their seafood options though. However, we were pleased! There were not many people there at all. the parking lot was completely full though, so i'm assuming people had spilled over from Carrabas and Changs?

thanks @LSUAfro I love Ruth's Chris and have a tendency to compare all filets to theirs, so thanks for that rec! I've heard their scallops are incredible too.
Flemings

Thoughts? Other than Ruth's I'm not typically a big fan of chains, but have heard good things about Flemings. Any reviews and/or advice on what to order would be great. Got a gift card and need to use it at some point.

Love the sweet/salty combo of pancakes and bacon. A good quality maple syrup and coffee- only cream.
re: When did Opie's open back up ?
Posted by PrincessLeia on 5/2/11 at 3:32 pm to Zilla
About Opie's. I used to eat there once/week. I thought it smelled a LOT like an elementary bathroom! I love the food but the smell was just terrible. I think it was pine sol cleaner or something. All Star Catfish - FTW
