Been living there a little more than 3 months. Both my fiancee and I have both seen a man stanfing in various parts of the apt at different times.

Bout 3 weeks ago, we were both in the living room when the rubber door stopper spring started vibrating like someone had kicked it.

Last night, we were in the room watching ESPN when we both heard footsteps. I checked it out and noone was there. I looked the bedroom door(its a 1 bedroom apt) and went to sleep. This morning, the door was about halfway open. Scared the shite out of her but i told her i had got up and went to the bathroom so she wouldnt freak out.

Think i'm a leave the voice recorder on my phone on at night to investigate.

in all seriousness if you are just renting i would get out.

i rented a house that ended up being haunted.

it was the worst 4 months of my life. we both saw figures, heard noises, had items move around in plain site. i don't know how to explain it but the stuff above was scary but not threatening. the last month it got really bad and it all escalated. on top of the stuff above we had instances that were violent and what ever it was was trying to hurt us. we got out after that.

me and my wife are both perfectly sane. i realize this is a message board and most won't believe me (understandable). i'm just saying if you are renting just get out. i wouldn't wish the shite we saw on anyone (well almost anyone).

Some years ago, a woman who worked for me bought a beautiful old home with a large entrance hall and parlors etc... She and her husband were very excited about it. After they moved in, she started coming to work looking completely worn out and sickly. she has dark circles under her eyes and it was apparent that something was wrong. Everyone noticed it. I kept asking her if she was alright until she finally told me the story. She didn't want to say anything, initially, because she figured I'd write her off as nuts. She'd been working for our company for years and longer than I had. She was a stellar employee, very stable and dependable.

Anyway, in the middle of the night, they started hearing what sounded like furniture being moved around in the attic, but there was nothing in the attic. They called in some folks to check it out to make sure the AC or something else wasn't causing the noises, even though they only heard them at night. Then, they started hearing things in parlors and when they checked, she claimed they both saw a man and woman, on multiple occasions walking across the hallway.

She also said her when her adult daughter came for a visit, the daughter's things were always moved around during the night. Her make up bag would be hidden behind linens etc...

They even called their priest to come in and say some sort of prayers, there. The stuff just got worse, according to her.

She did some research and found that many years ago, there had been a suicide or murder in the home. I can't recall which. They tried to stay, but they couldn't get much sleep, so they moved out and in with her mother until they could sell the house and move somewhere else. It was sad because it affected her health so much that she had to quit working for a while.

Since she moved, she got better and all has been well.

Extremely bizarre.

Let's just hope for your sake the ghost isn't a former klan member or something.

rather not. it was honestly pretty traumatic.

i'm a pretty tough fricker but to this day i do not like being home alone at night. i'm thousands of miles away from where it took place and have not had any experiences since then but i will never be able to forget.

i just wanted to chime in to tell the original poster 1) it can be real and 2) if you are renting go ahead and gtfo

I'm not trying to be an a-hole, but this is kind of hard to believe (although it is an interesting story).

The people I know who had the experience said that when their were fireworks on New Year's Eve, whatever was going on went out of control and they had to draw the line.

I would really aporeciate it. I thought about prayers or nailing a piece of new wood above the door.

Quit thinking it's haunted and it will go away.

Everytime you watch some scary movie or show it's always the mother and kids( ones who believe ) being freaked out, nothing ever happens to the non believing dad. It's all mental so just get it out of your head.

That's sounds exactly like the very subtle ways that a spirit will manifest itself. At least in the beginning stages.
