Does PP stay PP7?

Theres no #7 on the Cards roster.....i like the number.....hope he keeps it.

I don't think he will be able to take #7 bc of the # rules in the NFL.
He will have to take a # between 20 and 49 I believe, but #7 will be off the table unless the NFL makes an exception for him (which they won't remember Bush was denied in 2006).

NO..the NFL has a numbersing system...
NFL Numbers
1-9 Quarterbacks and Kickers
10-19 Quarterbacks, Receivers, Tight Ends, and Kickers
20-49 Running Backs and Defensive Backs
50-59 Centers and Linebackers
60-79 Defensive Linemen and Offensive Linemen
80-89 Receivers and Tight Ends (or 40-49 if those ranges are taken)
90-99 Defensive Linemen and Linebackers
NFL Numbers

I've always wondered why people refer to him by initials and number. Nobody refers to RR2 or, back in the day, MM18 or DB80. What made Peterson become PP7? I don't think I've ever seen that anywhere but on this board. I can't think of any players on any other teams that have a similar moniker, for lack of a better term. Anyone know what started the whole PP7 thing?

I want to say PP7 came as a spin off of Chris paul's CP3 in that he is so good and identifiable that he only needs his initials and numbers. He is the only one good enough really to be compared to Chris Paul although i think TM14 was a think or TM7 now Rueban Randle is RR wich carried over from recruiting as did RS

PP7 was the name of the gun in N64 GoldenEye game (changed from PPK in the movies.) FWIW, I hope he takes either 21 or 37.
