Does anybody know anything about this kid? He is visiting Mossissippi State this week. All I know is he is a 6'9" 220lb sleeper who has a lot of mid major offers ( La. Tech, La. Monroe, Lafayette, southern, Grambling).
ETA: I found his stats and he averaged 21 points, 15 rebounds, and 8blocks per game.
What classification is Morgan City? This kid really seems like he could be a sleeper.

His video looks good. He looks like an SEC player. I have wondered what the issue is with him, why he is not a higher rated prospect.

I just talked to my buddy from Lake Charles and he said the kid can play.
Stansbury signed Vernado without many people going after him, maybe he can do it again.

How does a 4* player not have many people go after him?

According to the MSU board, if State offers Long he will commit and sign on the spot.

That's a pretty big limb you are going out on there.

Well it would be by far his best offer. But why would guys on the State board really know about what a kid from Morgan City was going to do? Those guys are just basing that off of the offer sheet as well.

I always love how when a major conference school offers a kid that doesn't have many good offers, that makes him a sleeper to their fanbase

No the worst is when your fanbase uses Tyrus Thomas as a recruiting example and asks "why can't we get players like that?" It's like winning the lottery and then asking why it can't happen each week. Par for the rantcourse.

I would be nice to know which 6'5" kids are going to grow another 4 inches after they reach college. If we could figure that out, then we'd be set.

Well, that's a shocker

Long has received an offer from Tulane, and also has had visits from Tennessee and Oklahoma. Alabama and Auburn are both showing interest as well. Long will be on campus later this week in Starkville for an official visit, and I really like our chances.

Also heard LSU is still interested in this kid.

I watched all of his highlights a couple of months ago. He is a big kid who is athletic. He has a good outside shot, and is a good rebounder and has good post moves. I assumed he had some other issues that I was missing, because his offer sheet does not seem match his abilities.
If it is true that LSU, Alabama, etc., are showing him interest now, that does not surprise me at all. He appears to be a nice player.

grades are the only thing I can think of holding him back
But then again, LSU has been whiffing on any state prospects not affiliated with Collis Temple since Dale Brown left

His Rivals profile has him with a 20 ACT and 2.7GPA both plenty good enough to get into State to play sports.

I don't think the NCAA uses Rivals as the grades clearinghouse
