I didn’t till I read this…

quote:

Replacement player Sean Payton, who was a quarterback for the Chicago Bears "Spare Bears," eventually worked his way to coaching in the NFL with the New Orleans Saints, winning Super Bowl XLIV as a head coach.

Wait, I dont think that qualifies as "Crossing the Picket Line" when he didn't play before. He was a replacement player.

He was Shane Falco basically. Not the a-hole QB that crossed.

Strikebreakers are usually individuals who are not employed by the company prior to the trade union dispute, but rather hired prior to or during the strike to keep production or services going. "Strikebreakers" may also refer to workers (union members or not) who cross picket lines to work.

Where the hell where you when the Saints played the Bears in the NFC Championship in '06?

It was said at least 50 times that he was coaching against his former team. Hell, they even showed Payton playing against the SAINTS in some of the clips.

Strikebreaker = Scab (Payton/Falco)
Strikebreaker can also = Picket Crossers (Martel later on)
Scab does not = Picket Crosser

amirite?

The most interest part of it all, is that one of his 3 games played as an NFL QB, was against the Saints.

Well whatever. I could be wrong. Let's just go back to calling the OP a bandwagon fan. That sounds better.

I am not a Saints fan, so I can't be a bandwagon fan.

Honestly, if it did come to that this time, I wouldn't have any beef with them. If most of us were given a chance to live out our dream, we'd take it in a heart beat.

Sure. I'd try out, but even before Judge Nelson's decision yesterday, using replacement players would have been illegal, as it's a lockout, not a strike.
