For those looking for something to do in New Orleans tomorrow, the Louisiana High School Rugby State Tournament and the NORFC playoff games will be held on Saturday April 16th in City Park.
The following is the schedule for the day:
All Games Played at Pan-American Stadium except as noted.
11am #1 Jesuit v #4 Rummel (City Park Rugby Pitch)
11am #2 Shaw v #3 Brother Martin
12:30 NORFC A vs. Nashville - D2 South Quarterfinal Playoff
2:30 NORFC B vs. Tampa Krewe B - D3 South Quarterfinal Playoff
4:30 High School Consolation Game
5:30 Brother Martin B v Jesuit B
6:30 High School Championship Game
Please no debates on whether this is a real high school state championship. It's not an LHSAA sport, but these are the four best teams in the state. Shaw and Jesuit are ranked #6 and #7 nationally.
NORFC fielded two competitive teams for the first time ever this year, and both teams won their leagues to earn a home playoff game.
For those interested, here are the men's club playoff brackets (the top 2 in the South advance to National Round of 16 in each division):
D2 Bracket
D3 Bracket

Good LUCK NORFC A. Kick Nashville's arse.

It should be noted that if both New Orleans and Atlanta Old White win this weekend, I'll be a drunken fool in Tampa in a couple weeks.

NORFC B beat Tampa Krewe B 22-12.
Jesuit beat Shaw in the State Final 17-7 for yet another state tournament championship. 6 out of 8 years for Jesuit.
If there's a rugby hall of fame, Coach Rob Markel should be in it.

my old high school has a pretty solid dynasty in georgia. won state on saturday again. pretty sure georgia rugby sucks a lot of cock though.
in 2008, they lost in the southeast final to jesuit 19-15 so maybe they are pretty good.
