Never knew this existed...not sure if it's a permanent off menu item or a special. Coworker ordered an oyster poboy and she mentioned it, so we both got one.

It's a poboy consisting of:
Andouille encrusted fried oysters
Bacon and bleu cheese coleslaw
Sliced tomato

I'm guessing they mix andouille in with whatever they use to batter the oysters (corn meal?)

It was freaking awesome. Coleslaw was nice and crispy, not overly bleu cheesey, nice smokiness from the bacon. The oysters themselves were awesome (I'm guessing fresh since Tuesdays are the oyster special day) and the breading was outstanding, could really taste the andouille.

I would highly suggest trying it out.

That sounds delicious. I use a similar breading on fish sometimes...grind up some andouille, mix with bread crumbs, coat fish and pan fry. It's declicious, never thought to try it on oysters though.

I'll eat them fried but normally avoid them. Much rather have them raw or chargrilled.

What was the price tag on this i wonder? Most of their "specials" are like $18.95-23.95. Then again, most of those are a piece of broiled fish with crabmeat sauce and or etouffee dumped on top. Oh and a tough, poorly cooked new york strip. I stick with the crab cake sandwich.

Under $10 I think. I got free lunch though, so I'm not positive.

Sounds awesome. Oyster is already my goto poboy. Add that other stuff and this sounds like a beast of a poboy.

I had it last night. It was $14.99, w/ ff. I think it could have been cheaper. It had only 8 oysters. There are places that put at least a dozen w/ ff for $12. It was good but not amazing. I if I want a different poboy I'll go to mahoney's on mag. I couldn't really pick up on the andoullie. The chins east is changing thier menu a bit. They also had some specialty burgers as well.

All the Chimes locations (Highland, East, and Covington) will be changing up the menus in the next couple of weeks. In addition to the oyster poboy special, they will have burger specials (black n blue burger; burger w/ fried japs, bacon, and pepperjack cheese) - all the sandwich specs will come with fries. They are also adding some new items to the menu including the crawfish mac, and seafood lasagna.
