Waiting in line to eat

This guy has a point. I laughed because I recently went to Irene's and was making jokes about the wait.

I don't mind waiting a few minutes for a table. That can happen. But I refuse to wait in a long line for any restaurant. frick it. If I go to Galatoire's I make some excuse and show up after somebody else in the party has a table.

I'm glad he called out Port Of Call. That place is a complete shite hole.

I read the deal...I don't see where Outback said they "engineered" a wait...only that the average wait is 2.5 hours, and that adds to the image of the restaurants.

This guy sounds like a typical food snob a**wipe.

No...you're not. But spinning the Outback stuff to try and prove what may be a valid point is stupid. I can't believe the cattle that go to some chains, just because "they know what to expect". But, a well run Outback can be as good as any restaurant in town.

Me either. I have too many great choices of places to eat where I can get real reservations or just go early and not have to wait.

I pass the outback by my house sometimes on Friday and Saturday nights and just laugh and all those dumbasses sitting out front like heard of cattle waiting to go in and graze.

on the few times i've been to outback this IS the case. They have no need for any wait longer than 30-45 mins. Everytime I have gone they quote 90 min waits or more. So I tend to believe he's not just bending that for his own good.

I tend to believe that the 18-20 year old little pretty thing that's taking the names just isn't sharp enough to quote me correctly. I go in restaurant all over that may be quoting 30-40 min, I usually glance at the wait sheet, and I can tell if they are being accurate. I would bet that most of the time they are just overquoting because they aren't paid enough to have some a**wipe in their face complaining that "it's been 20 min...where's my table"..."can I see the manager". REALLY...it's not rocket science, they are giving you their 18-20 year old best guess based on some system, like for every name count 2 min.
So it still only comes down to if you WANT to wait for what they are offering. If not...find a restaurant that has open tables on whatever night you're out to eat. If the guy would have said that in his article, instead of making it a conspiricy, then he would have made some sense.

IMHO
