if he has the same type of numbers the rest of the year? Currently batting .404 with 10 dingers in 28 games and a 1.000 fielding pct.

I think you already know the answer to this.

If he doesn't go in the first round it will only be because this draft is so deep. He is the best all around player we've had in a while.

Agree with top 50. He'll could go anywhere from 20th to 40th in my opinion.

He's better than Jared Mitchell was at LSU.

You would have to go back farther than that.

I think mahtook will get drafted high but I honestly dont see him making it. Its hard for guys like him to make it considering all the talent in the minor leagues. He has misjudged a fly ball one to many times and unless he can improve that he will have trouble making it

if he keeps this up he will be in the discussion for greatest single season
but overall his numbers prob wont even match up to a guy like Blake Dean when it's said and done

jamin garidel.
At a road game once, I was standing behind the bullpen and the ball hit off of Garidel's glove and nailed me in the face.

From Baseball Prospectus (3/28/11):
eta: In my opinion, he's a first rounder. At the very least a compensatory pick.

Mikie Mahtook, OF, Louisiana State
Usually a national powerhouse, the Tigers are suddenly freefalling, losing six of their last seven games (including two of three over the weekend against a mediocre-at-best Georgia team). One of the lone bright spots on the team has been Mahtook, who went 5-for-11 with a pair of home runs during the series to raise his season averages to .365/.476/.741. His tools might leave him just outside the first round, as he's more of a player without a below-average tool than one loaded with plus ones, but in a pitching-heavy draft, he could move up due to the scarcity of bats.

What?
I think he'll have a great career in the pros.
