In that case the whole team, its coaches, us fans, and all sports reporting agencies would have been in the doghouse! Hell, Crowton didn't even understand his own offense.
Yes, because a RB has to understand the ENTIRE offense, and not simply running lanes and blocking assignments.

Why do people assume Ware is the #1 over Ford?
1. Ford seems to be in Miles' doghouse.
2. Ware carried more and had a better performance in the Cotton Bowl.
3. Ware was the more highly rated recruit with a lot of buzz coming out of high school.
4. Miles mentions Ware before Ford in comments.
These are probably the overwhelming reasons.

WTF does this mean.
Should we assume Chris Davenport is in the doghouse? How about Ron Brooks?
Of course not, there are players that are performing better than those guys. Has no meaning beyond that.

Ware seems faster with fast jukes and spins compared to ford who is great but doesnt appear to have break away speed or quite as good vision.

Because he's taken the no. 1 snaps in every single spring practice.

Get your logical thinking off the rant and take it back to the Recruiting board!

Ware was a higher rated prospect. The only reason people talk about him over Ware is because Ford is a La HS kid and they know him better. In limited action, Ware has looked better.
Ford is a freak though.

im not going to read all the responses. generally most of them suck anyway.
ware is working with the first group in spring practice.
and when ridley was questionable for the cotton bowl. it was ware who was getting ridley's reps.
ware and ford are both very good, but id say at this moment that ware is above him on the depth chart.

I didn't have any objections to either of them getting carries, even with Ridley enrolled. If I'm not mistaken though, Ware had almost as many touchdown passes as the joker we had at Qb, so they moved him under center. Can anyone else confirm/deny? Here's what I saw... LINK /

Ware has looked much better IMHO also. He looks much more fluid. Ford seemed stiff. We'll get a good look this season, but so far, you gotta think Ware has the edge and it doesn't seem to be close. I want to see what Blue can do with more PT also. Blue just might beat him out for the #2 spot as well. Then you have Gore for a change of pace back. Magee and Hillard coming in as true freshman. Ford could wind up as odd man out. But he'll get his chances this season to prove otherwise. It's some stiff competition at the RB spot.

There's no denying that Ford is a better physical specimen.. but I mean hell, I don't care which of them start
Ware fits the Miles mold better though

I've never understood why people get so attached to a player they have to assume the player is in Miles' doghouse or isn't playing because Miles is playing favorites with an upper classman.
Could it be possible the guy that's playing is just better than the one that isn't playing as much?

quote:Right. Someone has already mentioned the alleged "Keiland Williams treatment" with regards to Ford. Uh, Ford has been here longer than Ware...wouldn't that mean Ford gets the alleged Miles' preferential treatment?

Look at what Ware did in games last year and then look at what Ford did. IMHO, Blue will beat Ford out for the #2 spot. Blue was high on Miles favs list last season before his injury.

when they speak of grasping the offense, they are specifically referring to blocking assignments/blitz protections etc. Those protections are called by the LINEMEN alot and the qb obviously as well.
Are you saying you understood Crowton's offense? Cause we have video evidence (hrs and hrs of it) proving our team didn't...
