Dude was butt hurt bad about anyone saying anything bad about his ncaa tournament. I loved his comment that the regular season is just for getting to the "second season". Anyways, just had to hear it. And then he was making the case that its just like the NFL system "based on the meaningless stats". Hey Doug, 32 NFL teams is nothing in similarity to the parity involved in your "300 basketball teams".

it was really bad

when he tried to play the "parity" card i started laughing out loud

i won't even bring up the non-BCS schools

UConn finished like 9th in its own conference

I'll be honest here

I dislike Gottlieb for being whiny and having a face like a weasel. He has never been good enough at his job for me to overlook the trivial things i dislike about him

I dont get what you Madness haters would like to replace it with that would be better. Personally I love me some March Madness. SO MUCH better than anything else in College sports imo.

I like Gottlieb, but that was kind of bad.

Either way, I don't know why he cares that people are bashing the tournament. It's not like that matters, because it's never going to change.

Dont know about this interview but I think Gottlieb is one of the best guys espn has on the payroll. Im not mad at him for defending his favorite sport.
