I'll be around Fort Worth. What is a good place for dinner? I've been to Joe T's and enjoyed it. Thanks

How much are you wanting to spend? Tim Love has a few places...Lonesome Dove is pretty good...Loveshack is a burger place that is one of his outposts as well.
Bonnell's is also another wild game place along the lines of Lonesome Dove that is supposed to be great but I've yet to give it a shot.

Good atmos, very average food.
El Asadero on Main near stockyards for great hole-n-the-wall mexican.
Fred's Cafe is pretty good
Reata's is upscale cowboy/ southwestern. I've only eaten at the one in Alpine but its good.

Cafe Aspen if you like good but extremely overpriced food.
Joe T's for great environment, margaritas and the Nachos.
There is a great Thai restuarant just south of Cooks Hospital but I cant remember the name.
The Blue Oyster makes a hell of a poboy
The Sunday Champagne Brunch at the Worthington can not be beat but you pay for it.
Old South is a dive with a long history and reputation for late late night food. Get the baby german pancakes or the frog fries.
Hoffbrau Steak house makes a great steak.
Railhead makes really good BBG and the Shiner is tall and ice cold.
Lucile's Stateside Bistro is a Ft Worth staple and the Cheeries Jubille is a must but it may be little early in the year for cheeries yet.

Uncle Julios has just as big of a following as Joe T's.

Is that place downtown and multi-level, on top of a building? I ate somewhere like that. People raved over it and I didn't think it was all that.

Yeah, skip Reata.
Try these:
Grace
Ellerbe's
Bonnells
Lonesome Dove
El Asadero or El Rancho Grande in the stockyards for Mexican
Lannys
Cafe Aspen is closed. Uncle Julios is a chain, it's ok.

I guess with a 1000% mark up on a bottle of wine they couldnt survive the recession.
What is the name of the Italian place that is actually in a basement close to where Aspen used to be. That place had some real atmosphere and the portabella linquini was awesome.

Thanks!
Also, I think I will be staying in Fort Worth for the LSU-Oregon game so I am sure we will be hitting up a few of these places.

May be why I've never eaten there. The Alpine location is the original and food just tastes better when you're on vacation.

So true.
I'm actually typing from the Reata at DFW right now. Not bad, but--I'm at the airport. Ha.
Hijack--dallastiger, dined at Hibiscus Friday night. really underwhelmed. Whats new out your way that I need to try?
Unhijack--OP, I'm also down w fred's. Go on a nice afternoon and sit outside.
As more places come to me, I'll do my best to update.

Thomas Hudson is the guy to talk to about high end stuff. I'm more the dive expert. But I did eat at Stephen Pyle's new place on Ross and it was very good.

The Reata location at the top of the Bank One tower before it was destroyed was a nice deal, had many lunches there. Nice atmosphere, reasonable prices, and the view from the 35th floor was amazing.
The food, however, was eh. OK but nothing special.
