United States leads in number of guns per person

I think it's pretty incredible that we almost have as many guns as citizens. It should give people who would like to invade a serious reason to rethink their plans.

There it is! 
If you were to take an actual census of guns and owners, you'd probably see that a large majority of people dont own guns. It's just us paranoid frickers that are tilting the scale.

invasion is a bad idea BUT
if done when electric power is out, like Katrina, chaos will be between us Americans making an invasion so much easier. After Katrina, folks were defending themselves against looters and keeping a very close eye on the law. Fighting the looters, law, and invaders without any power, food, gas, water, etc, will be tougher than just shooting at commies while driving into work or on the way out to eat with the family. Power goes out, better hope for lots of ammo and survival skills.

one would think at least SOME of those groups that weren't seeing eye to eye in the aftermath of Katrina would possibly be on the same team if there were a real, fullfledged invasion. I think good buys and bad guys can all agree on the fact that they dont want "commies" running the show.

Even though there are 9 guns for every 10 people, no where close to 90% of the population owns a firearm. Maybe more like 20% of the population. For example, I have more than 20 but fewer than 100.
