While I have a great deal of respect for the Arsenal fans on this site, in the words of Antonio Salieri from my favorite play Amadeus: "We are enemies, you and I"
Barça win 3-1
Barça win 3-1

For a day.
I have a feeling we could witness an epic match. As long as a ref's decision doesn't decide the outcome I am okay with whatever happens.
ETA: I can't fricking wait.

I, too, expect Barca to erase the goal difference at the Nou Camp.

It's be silly for me to say that I am not afraid of the quality that Arsenal possess in every aspect of the pitch. Very few teams have ever beaten Barcelona at their own game, something I applaud Arsenal and Arsene Wenger for.

Last year(yeah Arsenal was routed)the Gunners actually took the lead in the tie. Messi's brilliance was undeniable. Arsenal has the 1/2 goal lead, if the Gunners score first it will make for a potentially epic match.
Pop are you going to watch at Finn's?

We aren't Inter or Chelsea. I hope the match tomorrow is flowing and what the game should be about. The two clubs respect each other and I expect it to show on the pitch.

Exerpts from Sport.es interview with Pep (I'd link it but it's in spanish so here's my translation):
He then went on to talk about Jack Wilshere:
quote:
With the shock inclusion of Robin Van Persie, where everything pointed to him being unavailable , do you doubt the inclusion of Walcott and Song?
To which the Sanpedor born coach responded "There are always private aircraft to fly Song and Walcott in on. Last tie Mr. Wenger said that Nasri was a low probablility and he was included. For me, I hope Walcott and Song are able to come and play; it is entertainment for people if the best players are out on the pitch and if Van Persie can play as a top player, it's much better.
quote:
What about a perceived mental weakness?
"I always hear about this 'mental weakness' from Arsenal, but this is not true. They are always on top, always winning; perhaps they sell some players but they always find a way to compete. There are many teams that are on top once ore twice and then they are finished, but Arsenal are always there.
He then went on to talk about Jack Wilshere:
quote:
Wilshere is a top player who has been a huge surprise; I did not know him at the beginning of the season but he's a top player. He's a top player not just for Arsenal but also for the English national team; there are many players like him in our second team and it is very good news for football when a team has players like him.

Overall I suspect we'll lose, but I'm hoping for something like a 2-2 draw to see us through. We're rebuilt so much better this time around compared to last year. So in that regard it should be more entertaining presuming the quality we field will be able to fully express itself.

It will be interesting to see who we play beside Wilshere. Diaby might get upfield too much, while Denilson offers little going forward, but is excellent at recycling possession. I'd prefer Denilson.

That seems to be the consensus of opinions, that Diaby's game is not suited to this tie, one where we'd be smarter to have a DM sit and defend more and make square passes to ensure possession. So Denilson it is, imo.

Though Diaby's physicality might be useful in dealing with Mascherano.

How can I watch the game?
Posted on 3/8/11 at 11:41 am to CourtesyFlush
It's on television on Fox Soccer Channel, but if you don't catch that you might want to try a streaming site like channelsurfing.net
