If Matt Flynn Had JR's talent....

Just think about how good he would be. I know this is kinda off the wall but it got me thinking. Flynn was never the fastest, or had the best arm. He worked so hard. He refused to give up. If JR had that attitude JR might would be a top 10 QB right now. I just kills me that someone with as much talent as JR can not put it together.

I think if JR had stayed in 07 we go undefeated. Should have been going for the 3 peat in 08

apparently JRs talent wasn't enough for a national championship and Flynn's was..
Don't know how it could go better..
If we're speaking NFL.. then yeah.. JR threw it away.. literally..

LSU went 10-2 in 06 and 07. So neither QB did better than the other one record wise.
JaMarcus Russell was the better college QB.

I am more so talking about if Flynn had JR's arm or if JR had Flynns head/work ethic.

Just think if Matt Flynn had Jerry Rice's work ethic

I mean we all know JR had a cannon and could avoid sacks while still staying in the pocket. Flynn was also very good at avoiding sacks just JR was always looking down field. I am not saying JR is better overall. Just imagine if we could take the talents they both had and mesh them together.

if vince vaughn had half the heart of Rudy he'd have been all-american

If Al Woods had my work ethic he would still be Al woods.

Matt Flynn is very talented. He is showing that right now by working his way toward a starting position on an NFL team, something that JR might never have again.
The Matt Flynn untalented argument is way overblown. He had wheels and could make every pass. His arm got messed up in the Arkansas game, he had a horrible first half against Alabama, and we inconceivably stopped giving the ball to Charles Scott in the Kentucky game. Other than that, he played really well all year.
JR's talent blew out Notre Dame but laid an egg against Auburn and fumbled the ball on the goal line against Florida in 2006. I'm not saying he wasn't a good QB, but I don't see where he was that much more talented than Matt Flynn.
Understand, I think that throwing a football 60 yards on your knees is a great physical feat, but I consider QB talent to be much different from how far you can throw a football.

LOL Flynn just messed a few times whereas the losses were completely JR's fault.

Les Miles laid an egg against Auburn. JR played well IMO.

he already threw 2 td passes on that drive. The ball never got to his hands. UF wasn't a good game at all for JR. Kentucky and Arkansas weren't good games for Flynn

Age old question asked in almost all walks of life... some people have talent, and others use it, and others wish they had the talent that people like Baron Davis and Jamarcus Russell throw away.

Last weekend ESPN radio in Dallas was talking about interest in trying to acquire Matt Flynn as someone who could come in and push the crap out of Homo for the starting role. There'll be another team that needs an actual starter, but Dallas recognizes that Flynn should be able to compete for a starting job. Homo isn't going to get them to the promised land.

for the love of mother earth, quit making this stupid, freakin argument...
fwiw, Flynn is much closer to the prototype NFL qb today than JR. Plus he works at being successful

Didn't JR start all the games in 06??? How could we go for 3-peat if we didn't win it all in 06???

+1. He also plays fast, and knows how to take risks.
