addai was the complete package as a back. can catch out of the backfield, decent runner, and can block.

He was ALL SEC as per the coaches whose job was to stop him. No way he's near the bottom of LSU backs, much less the sarters, is either shamefully biased or stupid...take your pick.

LaBrandon Toefield
Dominick Davis
Joseph Addai
Alley Broussard
Justin Vincent
Jacob Hester
Keiland Williams
Charles Scott

most of those guys made NFL rosters and have made starts for NFL teams. it's not like i'm saying a bunch of scrubs are better than Ridley. Ridley is better than Shyrone Carey if it makes you feel better, though Carey never got near as many carries as the names listed above.

Which one's were 1st team ALL SEC? Compare apples to apples...Ridleys pro career has yet to unfold. Compare similar facts.

Supposedly some scouts told him he'd be a 4th-6th round pick regardless of if he came out this year or next. He's not really going to be able to get much faster and there's obviously a chance for injury. Therefore he he's leaving early.

all-sec doesn't really tell the whole story in 2010.

Ridley made 1st team all-SEC but you'd find few neutral observers who would take him over backs like Knile Davis, Brandon Bolden, Trent Richardson, or Mark Ingran.

perhaps if he'd been able to keep running for more than a few yards without falling down he'd have gotten more carries.

Hard to say, but I'd put Ridley right with Scott (with better vision), over Vincent and Broussard (ability to overcome adversity and have a strong 4th year). Hard to say with Williams, because we probably never saw the "real" KW.

2004 alley broussard was a straight up freak

his career unfolding as it did was probably one of the bigger dissapointments at LSU in a while.

The SEC coaches ranked him 1st team based on what they saw? What "unbiased observers" are you referring to? You didn't answer my question as to the "better" backs that made All SEC.

there are a lot of factors as we saw in 2010. if the best backs didn't get all-SEC honors in 2010 why would they necessarily get it in 2002, 2003, 2004, 2007, etc? IMO, I see those backs that I listed as being better than Ridley. Statistically none of these backs really are that different from each other, we just have to go on what we saw. my eye test tells me that those backs were better, your's is different. it isn't a big deal and it is ridiculous how personal some of you take this stuff.

All the the arguing in this thread and Boone pays attention to the fact that the 4.71 listed isn't even his official time. I'd say 4.66 is much better and pretty comparable with other backs his size.

They should put a genius like yourself in charge of the All-sec stuff. What the frick do these head coaches know?

You're the village idiot today!

BTW, his official time is 4.66, I think the OP should change the thread title.

I think you are a bit sensitive on this subject Bomber... Not sure your connection with Ridley but if you stay around I fear you are going to blow a gasket.

He may be, but no more so than the anti Ridley crew which is skewed as Hell in the opposite direction and always has been.

Interesting that there is an Anti-Ridley crew on an LSU board.
