I also love the baby toads that are about the size of your fingernail!

Have had squirrels, raccoons, owls, and alligators. Squirrels were always my favorite, but the raccoons were a close second.

My youngest memories of having wild animals was a pet raccoon "bandit" (yeah I know, how original).
I miss the shite out of that little guy.
Had him for over 3 years and he wouldn't leave my side.
No leash.
He stole and hid any Nickel, dime or quarter he saw In my truck.

Had a pet flying squirrel. Sucked

Had a pet opossum that pretty much stayed mean.

I'd love to get another baby coon if the chance presents itself.
Have to get them with their eyes still closed though and bottle feed them for them to be a truly great pet

Crows are smart enough to make you wonder if they are just messing with you when they interact with you. I'm not sure if they can be pets in La. though. (Can't here in Alabama)
Yeah, I'd like to try falconry too but don't have the time to dedicate to it. I've had pigeons, love birds, parakeets, parralets, all kind of birds.
Coons? Everybody I've met who had 1 liked them when they were small, but ended up ditching them when they grew up...they just got too nasty. They also have a disease that's got horrible results for people (raccoon roundworm?) in addition to rabies, so keep them away from other coons. Truth be known...I really can't stand raccoons, but admire how well they survive in the niche they are in. You can't keep any kind of bird with coons around.
An otter would be cool as I'd have to fish daily to feed it (hey, any excuse) but I'm not so thrilled with the smell.
