Kragthorpe the savior? or new fall guy?

Does the fact that Kragthorpe coming to LSU ALONE send the message that Miles is calling all the shots on offense?
I'm speculating, but wouldn't an OC who's going to "revamp" our offense bring a WR/RB/or OL coach or two with him??? It seems like Kragthorpe is just a glorified QB coach, which is fine with me if he get's the job done.
I get the feeling a lot of LSU fans are ready for our offense to look completely different and be a dominant force now. I mean we have the talent but we always do! Why is this guy so different?
I can't wait for football season.

You certainly are just speculating.

No, I think Krag is a guy who's going to want more control and Les is going to let him have it.

Coordinators rarely bring new assistants with them. They fill an opening on the staff just like everyone else.

Look for hand off right, hand off left, and an occasional play action pass.

That I did not know, thanks.

He may have a say in future coaches if one of the current guys leaves, but you are not going to fire a coach who you are happy with because the new OC thinks you should.

If he were employed as an OC when we hired him, with an existing staff, I would somewhat agree with your speculation. But that's not the case.

Yeah, let's run Frank Wilson and Gonzo out.

I expect a much improved offense, with less predictability, both of which will arise out of better QB play.

I'm not saying I want Gonzo or FW out for any reason, those guys are studs. Often times coaches bring staff's with them. But maybe that's reserved for HCs.
I'm also just cautiously optimistic that whatever SK has planned will work. I mean let's face it, it can't get any worse but still, we need success to play for the NC. I just hope CLM gives him the freedom he needs to do his job, I could see it being a potential issue.
Why is the off season so long

In a sense, I think Les brought him in partially to play the villain. A new face who isn't afraid to sit a senior quarterback for a sophomore... if need be

that wouldn't be villainous....it would be heroic

I'm not sure--it's a lot of speculation, but I actually wish Kraigthorpe were bringing a new OL coach along with him--LSU sorely needs that, esp. with this group of large, highly regarded OL recruits coming in. I believe the present OL coach is the weakest link on the coaching staff.

You can only have so many coaches. I think that allotment is full. I can't quote the number, can anybody help me out with how many?

True, but if a OL, WR, TE or RB coach is needed, the OC may have some input. This is most times.
Many coaches will have some input, but the HC has the final say.
I know an LSU coach that had a staff dumped on him one time.....
