Is he all hype or do you think he will be better than RM and possibly the best pure passer LSU has had?

Questions like this are idiotic. They play the same position, but LSU has better skill players, way better running backs, and better depth. We also run a completely different system.

I really have no clue. I'm not buying the hype until I see him play a game. I heard a story about him that makes him sound really entitled (although, I was hearing it through a third or fourth party, so it could have been changed). Lee and Jefferson were both 4 stars. I won't buy into the Mett hype until he plays a game

I know I came off as an a-hole, I tend to do that on the Rant, but the question itself is flawed. Mettenburger has never played on the SEC level. He's never been down by 4 and forced to drive the ball down the field to win a game. Do I think he should start over JJ? Yes, but then again, hyping the hell out of the kid is not going to help matters. Honestly, there is a good chance hes only moderately successful or average next year. LSU is putting in an entirely new offensive scheme. While it might play to Mettenberger's strengths, others might not do so well.
