I love how every .40S&W proponent has an anecdotal story about how they know someone, maybe a cop friend, that fired a bunch of 9mm at someone but didn't hit vitals, and somehow shooting a different caliber is going to fix that.
9x19 parabellum was in the German Luger, its in the current Beretta sidearm issue, and its in use by countless police and military organizations around the world. Literally countless.

I have 9mm Extreme Shock rounds in my XD when it's in the night stand. Hopefully I never have to use them.
