I've seen many people say stay in Fort Worth, TX instead of Dallas. I'm looking to book a place now for the opener. What are some suggestions from those who have stayed in Fort Worth?
Thanks in advance ya mofos.

Went to the Cotton Bowl earlier in the month. We stayed in Dallas and visted Ft. Worth one day. All I can say is that I'm glad we stayed in Dallas. There's not much that goes on in Ft. Worth. We were able to get a nice hotel in Downtown Dallas for $80/night. Can't beat that in my book.

Fort Worth is a better place to stay than Dallas in my opinion. I did my MBA at TCU, so I am a bit biased. There are several options...
The Omni is the newest hotel...it is really nice.
The Ashton is a boutique hotel right in the middle of Sundance Square so there is a lot to do around the hotel.
If you are bringing the wife, there is a bed and breakfast called Etta's Place downtown that is pretty cool, and the wife will love it...score you points off the field!
These places are all a little pricey, but they are the nicer places in Fort Worth. There is also a Hilton, Radisson, and a few others downtown, but you can stay at places like that anywhere.
I would suggest staying downtown, not in the Stockyards, those hotels are touristy, and a little run down.
I hope this helps...

It really depends on your age group really...if someone was planning on going to dinner and the game and calling it a night I would say ft worth..if your a younger crowd (24-30) dallas would be the best to stay for celebration parties and after parties.

If your talking to me yeah their is quite a bit....its a 7 dollar cab ride to either downtown or uptown where all the bars are. Their are a couple of bars where the majority of lsu people that live here go.
Its always nice to stay in dallas to because of all the LSU flags are up and the pep rally is at the anatole

If your aunt lives next to troy aikman than she actually lives in Plano, tx....Where I went to HS at....its about 25-30 mins away from dallas but 45-hr to the stadium. Nice though

I stayed at the DFW airport Marriott for the Cotton bowl. Didn't take long at all to get to the stadium. There is a shuttle to and from the game, and the airport.
It was also really nice to be that close to the airport the next morning
