Second part question:
In 2000 he made his debut as an outfielder for which Major League team?

I'm not BS'ing. It's true. Pretty cool to see the dude too. I thought for sure he'd be living in Miami by now.
He was behind me in line at Albertson's not long ago and was telling his daughter, "I can't wait to take you to South Beach."
Very cute little girl, btw. The wife must be a real looker.

Wasn't he a QB coach at U-High for a year or so? Or do I have him confused with another former LSU QB? serious question.

while he may have blown his money, he likely has some money saved (possibly into 6-figures) but can't exactly live off of that for the rest of his life. good to hear he's a productive member of society after his football dreams died.
Arkansas '99, Tennessee 2000, Auburn, Alabama, and Illinois(Sugar Bowl) '01. Some of my favorite all-time games to watch. Don't forget he won a couple of rings with the Pats. Thanks for the memories Rohan.

The TD pass and two point conversion vs Georgia Tech is as good as it gets. The incredulous look on the GT Coach's face was priceless.

HOw would he have made "millions" in the NFL? He was a 5th rounder (IIRC) and 3rd string. He probably made close to the league minimum and made a halfway decent salary in the NFL Europe and arena leagues (think ~65-80k). So, I'd imagine he did "blow" some money on nice shite and stuff, but he definitely won't have millions from his NFL career. I bet he does have no less than 100k saved if he was smart.
Davey actually was the 2nd string QB for the Pats until they signed Doug Flutie. He made just less than two million dollars over the course of his career, (6 years) playing professionally but as you said, after taxes and fees that wouldn't leave enough to last forever. Hopefully he did sock a nest egg away for his family life.

I thought he was living in California working for a medical company.
See I was wrong here. I looked it up to try to figure it out and found it was Josh Booty. I apoligize to Rohan for that.

Making that kinda cash would have put him in the 39% federal tax bracket. The Mass. tax rate is 5%.
The first $105,000 per year has a SS Tax, Medicare Tax, and Medicaid tax. That totals approx. 7.5% more.
Let's say he paid 44% in taxes, then paid his agent at least 10%. That's 54%.
$1.239 Mil x 54% = $669,000
1.239 Mil-669k = $570k
That's only $190,000 per year, if he pays his agent 10%. He hasn't saved for retirement, bought a car, clothes, shoes, food, insurance, or paid his rent.
Living in Mass is very expensive. They have a high property tax. There's probably a state, county, and city property tax. If he rents this tax is included in his rent, if he owns he pays it each year.
1276 police in Boston made $100,000 or more in 2006. LINK /
If Rohan saved $100k, he did very well.

Yes they do but not working on the dock. I think another poster said he had two jobs. That is probably why.
