All College Basketball is dead not just LSU

College basketball died the day the ruling was set to allow players to leave after thier freshman year.
Karem Abdul Jabar spoke on this topic and how it was truly hurting kids who could have great careers if they came through the system as it was intended.
The NBA is over expanded and to cover thier greed and over expansion they allow kids, whether or not they are ready, to declare after one year for the No Brains Association!
It is sad, I let my season tickets go and never plan on renewing. I have no problem with LSU Basketball I just belive the powers that control the sport have lost care for the young nieve players.
Most of these young players will never make enought money to retire wealthy from the NBA or if they do sign big contracts they dont have the education to understand how to make it last a life time. They are left with no degree, no career and no real prospects.
Good JOB NBA! Killing College Basketball while hurting your golden goose, the players!

NEW YORK — The NCAA championship game earned its highest television rating since 2005.
Duke's 61-59 win over Butler on Monday night on CBS earned a 14.2 fast national rating and 23 share. That's up 31 percent from the 10.8/18 for North Carolina's blowout against Michigan State last year.
It's the best rating since a 15.0/23 for North Carolina-Illinois in 2005. More than 48 million viewers watched at least some of the game, the most since 50 million tuned in for Arizona-Kentucky in 1997 when the population was smaller.
The entire tournament averaged a 6.0 rating, up 5 percent from last season.
Ratings represent the percentage of all households with televisions. Shares represent the percentage of all homes with TVs in use at the time.

agree.
The one and done has definitely hurt CBA and, ultimately, not a wise move for the NBA.
BTW, SEC basketball is in the worst shape that I have seen in 25 years.

Everything went downhill after the fab 5 left Michigan

I personally think college basketball is just fine, but the NBA needs to either take them out of high school or college needs to implement baseball-like early entry stuff.

Your trying to make your point by referencing the championship game?
So you truly believe across the board the college level sport is better when the players only play one year?
If you believe that your and idiot!

Not by a long shot. You need to visit tobacco road, Lexington, Big-Ten Country or some of the Big East schools if you think that's true.
But I agree they need to 86 that one year BS. I think if power coaches like K and others holler long and loud enough they will.
K has some stroke with the NBA due to his coaching the Olympic team. He may be able to get it overturned eventually.

Keep it simple.....NBA just needs a minimum age requirement, or something similar to what they do in the NFL.

do like baseball.. if they want to come in after high school then let them.. but if they enter college they have to attend at minimum 3 years (not eligible for the draft until after their jr. year or redshirt soph. year

That article is not a legitimate excuse as to why we are not successful.

90's college basketball is better than modern day basketball.

I've long pushed for that. But can the NBA fund and maintain a minor league system as comprehensive as baseball's? I think that would have to evolve first.

Before that, you didn't even have to go to college. So, the new rule didn't allow kids to leave after their freshman year; it forced them to wait a year after high school to go to the NBA.

When the tourney expanded in 1985, College BB slowly began a rise to prominence.
If you think it is dead, you have issues. The tournament effect is what makes it great.
It may be temporarily dead in the SEC, but not all-around.

who are you to prevent kids from making a living?
why should we make kids play a sport with limited and inferior coaching, learning a different game than the professional game for 3-4 years? why hurt the super-talented (kobe, kg, lebron, etc) like that?

most of these kids don't get educated in college, so your point is meaningless

those rules are professional rules, not college rules

They should be allowed to go straight from high school.
But if they choose to go to school, they have to stay 3 years. Just like the rest of the sports.
