I decided to check out the Maryland forum on Scout.

LINK

They seem rather happy to have Crowton and how it is just a loud and insignificant minority who didn't like Crowton.

Let's see how many Terp fans will be in the so-called loud and insignificant minority after the 19th short side option is called!

I have heard similar rumors. then again, he also made college FB stars out of Jacob Hester and Matt Flynn.

Let them be happy. He may be exactly what they need up there. Just because he was wrong for us does not mean he is wrong for them.

You guys really do believe it was all of Crowton's fault, and none of Miles' fault, don't you.

Anybody that doesn't think that Miles strongly influenced the offense the last two years is just at the games to tailgate and watch Mike the Tiger crowd surf.

You really think that is Miles? We didn't do it under Jimbo.

A couple of observations.

1) If he's so dam good, why did Les Miles ditch the guy? Answer: Coaches change jobs all the time

2) "All" LSU fans did not want to run him out of town. Only a handful of them who are all looking for an excuse why LSU failed in other areas.

3) It is nice to have an Offensive Coordinator who engineered a win in a national championship game.

4) This guy is a MAJOR upgrade.

ToT

I don't think everything was on Crowton but there are a number of media types saying that developing QB's is not a strength of Crowton's. And I would like to see the Terps fans definition of "a handful" of LSU fans.

I read one of their messages boards when the GC to Maryland rumors started. Most seemed happy with the possible hire at the time. I remember one post said something along the lines of, "at least we are getting LSU's leftovers instead of Kansas State's." LOL

The La Tech offenses didn't drop off. They were very good Crowton's entire time there.

I'm not calling Crowton the top offensive mind in the country, but I'll say that the Crowton/Miles mix left LSU's offense with no true identity and a terrible passing game.

I literally lol'd when I read that only a 'handful' of fans wanted Crowton gone. I thought Maryland had good academics? The poster in question must not go to or have graduated from school there.

And what other areas did we fail in? Defense? Uhhhhhhhh... Special teams? Well, damn...

He is right, though, GC is an upgrade for them.

I like this quote:

quote:

"I am hoping this will bring us some of the flair of the offensive production Leach would have brought, without the negative political repercussions."

Only desperate hope would make someone put Leach & Crowton into the same sentence.

Their expectations are also *slightly* different than ours.

What! are we asking to much not to be the 112 offense in the country

Does anyone even know why a coach might call a short side option? If not, please let it go.
