Nice. I've got pics from my climbs on Three Fingered Jack and the North Sister (beast of a climb, and now I've got all the sisters mounted up). Just been to lazy lately.

I take a photo here once every few months, not that outdoorsy but weather related.
Happy holidays

Taku winds are blowing. Temp is around 19, but the wind chill factor is below zero. Taku Winds can blow for days and have sustained tropical storm force winds, and gusts over 100 mph.
The "clouds" are just blowing snow caused by the high winds coming off the ice field.
About 11:00 a.m. Sun doesn't get above the peaks for a couple of months so the N.E. side of Douglas Island doesn't get direct sunlight during that time

The odds may be in favor of this happening sometime in the near future...

Sledding day. We also hiked across frozen Mendenhall Lake to get to the glacier.

Older Pentax K-x. 2009 or so. Probably need to get a new one soon, you can only expect about 75k images on an entry level DSLR shutter.

really? looks awesome
are you gonna get a DSLR with your next one or a 3rd gen? I'm holding out for a 3rd gen personally when i have enough money and see something i REALLY want

DLSR.
Probably several years off before mirrorless cameras will be as good as DSLR's. No doubt they are the future, but I'll wait til they are a bit more proven and catch up to the current cameras. The digital viewfinder isn't as good as an optical viewfinder IMO. Still a few years off.
Probably going to get the Pentax K3 them move on to mirrorless in a few years.

Sunrise this morning. Stayed at a lookout tower last night. The hike in was 9 degrees and it got down to 2 degrees. The stove could only heat the shelter to about 45 roughly. Fun night as always.

Not my image. Local guy shot this one
Aurora over Juneau. Echo Cove, near the end of our road system. Low tide, near the camping area looking North to Lions Head Mt at Berners Bay
This is the area in the spring, in daylight.

I finally got around to finishing up this summer's photos. Here are the ones that ended up in a calendar I made to give away to friends and relatives. From our 2 month long camping trip out west. We live in an incredible place.

Devil's Post Pile? John Muir Trail?
Very nice. Planning a two week trip this summer. Yellowstone, visit friends in Montana and summit a mountain where we used to live. Wish I could make it two months.

Devil's Post Pile - yeah, we really liked the Mammoth Lakes area. The first shot is Mt. Whitney from the hills above the Owens Valley on the east side. California is a great state for road tripping. Yellowstone to Glacier is a great area too.
Our trip was
Texas Hill Country
Big Bend
Sky Islands of SE Arizona
San Diego (brother)
Mt. Whitney
Mammoth Lakes
Yosemite
Lassen
Redwoods
Oregon Coast
Crater Lake
Bend area
Mt. Hood
Mt. St. Helens
Olympic Peninsula
Cascades
Washington desert
Glacier NP
Yellowstone
Tetons
Medicine Bow range in Wyoming
Right at 14,000 miles driven.
