Believe what you want, but he WAS offered the Michigan job despite what idiot michigan fans say. common sense says otherwise.

It's just good to hear positive things about our coach...through good times and.....bad times as it's that way with all of us.

It is a matter of semantics in whether an offer was made. In all likelihood a formal offer was not made in the manner that the words "I accept" would have resulted in a contract immediately. That rarely happens in complex deals like coaching contracts in one or two face to face meetings. Usually there is an agreement in principle and the details of the final offer and contract are worked out over a period of time. But there really is no offer and acceptance forming a contract when the initial discussions and agreement in principal occur.

So when Brandon says no offer was made, he is correct, but it sounds like there was no offer because Miles said "no" to the preliminary approaches. I think would have been better for all concerned if he had simply said that he had discussions with Miles and that they mutually decided not to pursue the matter further. Instead he acted like a jerk and treated the most prominent Michigan alum in college coaching with disrespect.

Whether there was a formal offer or not, I'm pretty sure everyone understood UM would have loved to have had him. You have to be a real dumbass to believe otherwise. Besides, they didn't fly down to BR for a sightseeing trip and a quick consultation.

CLM understands very well that he has a great situation here and an extra million to bolt to a questionable one up north just isn't enough. It appears he just wants to be sure that if he does have a bad year (like Mack Brown did this year) he won't be promptly run out on a rail.
