Breaking down the Lynch run again

on ESPN right now. Sure it was a good run in a critical situation but I really wish one of these "experts" could point out that MAYBE it happened because the Saints were pulling at the ball because once he got the 1st down it was pretty much over.
In fact, he was a dumbass for scoring and not going down after he got the 1st down.

It was only a 4 point game. He would have been a dumbass if he went down with more than 3 minutes left.
What if the Saints stop them on the next three plays and they miss the field goal or fumble?

Maybe at least once he got near the goal line. It almost came back to bite them since the Saints went right down and scored a TD.
They could have at least run off another 2 mintues from the 3 minutes left and still been in scoring range.

It's an interesting point and probably true to some extent that we were trying to strip, but that doesn't explain the trucking of Tracy Porter. He got his arse handed to him. And yes of course Lynch is bigger and was running downhill, but damn, as sweet as his INT was in the SB, that was just as ugly.

The Saints D were trying to strip the ball, not tackle.
So, the whole discussion is based on a fallacy. That fallacy being that the Saints were focused on making the tackle.
Now, does the Saints D need to improve? Oh, yes. The Saints D is still the weakest link on the team.

Yes the run was embarassing but if you look at Porter he is clearly reaching across Lynch to grab the ball. That had getting trucked written all over it

we are making this run into our version of the vikings year long blah blah blllaaaahhhhh about us "cheap-shotting" favre, and heretofor; costing Minny their deserved superbowl berth- the first 100000 comments on the run were fine but now its starting to feel like tired-arse excuses.
Man we got beat- we over looked Seattle too much, we were dinged up, suspect play calling, worst special teams in the history of life, and a bunch of other shite; i'm lookiin at you Devery- capped off by a this run
yep- it was a GREAT run
yep- half the guys made it a LOT easier by playing for strip
yep- the other half whiffed
Yep- we just needed a punt or maybe a field goal to see what we could do if we got it back, and the run ensured all of those hopes were mute when it became a 2 score game.
It stung, it sucks, it's real and it happened- kind of sick of re-hashing it like that may produce a new outcome.
feels good to get that out. we'll be back boys; we are that good.

I noice the Bears' tight-end seems to be having no trouble getting behind the Seahawks D. Makes the performance of our WRs last weekend seem even worse than it did then. And yes I realize that the Seahawks are probably playing a different coverage scheme because Cutler is not Drew Brees, but still.

Cmon, Porter was going for the tackle and just got force pushed by Lynch.

Yep. Porter got slung down like I would have if I had tried to tackle Lynch, and then he gave up on the play.
There is NO justifying that run on any level.

I'm sorry guys and not trying to make excuses but he clearly reaches across Lynch's body to pull at the ball.
Posted on 1/16/11 at 4:46 pm to Me
Actually, it sounds like you are making excuses. Lynch had a huge run and it embarrassed our team. No need to make threads saying it was because of then trying to strip the ball. I agree many players were trying to strip the ball but that isn't an excuse. Whether you want to call it poor coaching or poor tackling, that play just shows how bad our d was for that game.

yes- every single person played the ball and it cost us everything. they are stupid, all very stupid. my gram gram coulda run it in because we were just trying to strip
every saint on the field, and a few more than once..... COULD HAVE EAAASSSSIIILLLLY tackled him-but every single one, multiple times..played the ball
lynch showed zero heart, power, agility or vision.
sarcasm off- we got beat by an inferior team. we got a little out coached and out hustled. Doesnt happen to us a lot these days... so why not be a guy about it

oh i thought we were "breaking down the Lynch run again"-
start a new appreciation thread for the bears D- because that isnt what we are talking about; why do you post? you arent good aat it
you dont have to be HOF to be a hero- ask aaron bleeping boone.. oh WAIT you would say the guy lobbed the pitch in and boone had a low avg. that year.. because... that's irrelevant to the HEROIC PLAY.
Gosh dude you are so weak you are makin me suck lynchs cock and the idea of us losing to those DBags makes me sick. learn to give credit where credit is due. this is weak

Well, apparently you don't know much about football because it is easier to break tackles when people are grabbing at the ball.

You kind of sound like an uptight jerk. Please accept my apologies for stirring you up. I wouldn't want to run into you somewhere and have your obvious rage issues unleashed on me.

I'm stupid and you are the dumbass who can't read. I will quote myself in my original post:
You are too much in a hurry to be a douche and act like an internet badass.
A civilized adult who disagreed with my post would either ignore it or make a rational post in return stating their differing opinion. But you had to take it to the next level and exaggerate what I was saying. I'm sure you're a pleasant, very intelligent person so just revel in that over me.
And speaking of looking in the mirror: do you realize that you are almost 40?? You come across like some punk teenager.
