Nevermind, here is one link I found. Granted it's opinion, but everything else is too regarding an "offer".

I don't care whether an offer was made or not. He's our coach and that's the end of it. MU can say whatever they want about offers or no offers. All water under the bridge right now. They didn't come to BR to talk with him because they just wanted to see how things were going.

Which is a salary probably that was double what they offered Hoke. Michigan seemed to be on the fence on both but one candidate would've come to UM for box of crackers and a case of beer.
